Thanks for the replies. Yeah, I thought of a poll, but that wouldn't tell specifically each users thoughts on their skill level. The reason I thought it would be interesting is that in conversation here we can better assimilate the posters thoughts to his or her experience and skill.
Dave K asked what my level was, I have to look into that contest thing here (if an old coot like me can find it)
I play mostly straight pool for enjoyment although I have a younger friend (in his early 40s) who attends the "B" 9ball tourneys in our state. He tells me that I'm a very strong B. He said the ratings are plus and minus C B A and I'm a solid B+. He said some will argue if I enter that I should be an A, although I don't believe that.
I play perhaps 8hrs tops a week. My high run in straight pool is 78. My highest pressure run when behind for the money in a small stakes gambling game is 64 and out. I don't think Ive ever run more than 3 racks of nine ball, I just don't enjoy the game much.
I didn't know how else to ask the question, just thought it would be fun to have an idea. So maybe C- C C+ B- B B+ ... something like that with A+ being pro speed .. I dunno

I'm off to find those contests.

Actually what specifically sparked this thought was the thread here "How do I fix this" The poster had an interesting question, and my curiosity stemmed from the posters who are trying to help. Knowing their skill levels would be useful to all.
