Hey All Of You Az Lurkers - Here's Your Chance...

Nice Post

Hello, Thanks for calling me out. I think I currently hold the title of the number one lurker. I've been playing pool for 50 years. Learned at Chris' Billiards on the northwest side of Chicago. Still live here, but I don't know why. Have four cues that I all bought new. Meucci Chess cue in around 1978, Schon S-1 bought in 1981, Burton Spain bought in 1992, and a Mariposa cue I got from Kyle VB about 6 years ago. Love them all. My current status: Broken down old man. Multiple hand surgeries, bad back, bad neck, but I still want to play again one day. Being a troll (lurker) is about all I have left. I don't say much, but I love to read through the posts every day. I can't really offer anything about low deflection cues, 8 or 9 ball, one pocket, etc. as all I ever played is 14.1 I've always loved pool, chess, the Cubs, kayaking, partying, and generally being happy. I give credit to a lot of posters for their sense of humor and great knowledge of the game and equipment etc. I also love to watch others play pool as it is easier then me playing, for now. Thanks for giving us trolls a chance to speak out. We're not all bad people. Hoping for a return to the game. HappyJack

I enjoyed your post. Thoughtful, meaningful and touches home with many a person. Thanks for taking the time to post. You should actively engage more often. (And lurker, not troll!)

I have been lurking for years, I had to make a profile when my friend Ritchie Idrovo died (murder suicide with his fiancé.) he was a top player in the Chicago area. I was in Vegas at the APA nationals when it happened. Terrible scenario all around.
Been playing for over 20 years, APA 6 in 8&9 ball. Been to Vegas 3 times for team 8 ball and was there a few months ago for team 9 ball.
Highest has been 33rd in both.
Love playing at Chris's Billiards in the Sunday night 10 ball tournament when possible. Great competition but it goes super late, my 1 and a 1/2 year old gets up at 5 am like clockwork.
Friends with the great pool instructor Lee Brett, he crashes at my house occasionally. Fun guy.
My wife and I went to the Mosconi Cup in Vegas 2 years ago and are going again in a couple of weeks here.
I own a tattoo shop called Deluxe Tattoo here in Chicago.
Teaching my 6 year old daughter the game!

My name is Keith McCready -- well, at least that's who everybody thinks I am on AzBilliards Discussion Forum. Most know I'm Jennie Ann.

I lurk at 5am or so, the morning coffee goes great with a good debate.

After breakfast I say,

I owe, I owe, off to my machines I go.

I never have time for the internut the rest of the day. I would rather make Cues than be on my Confuser, I mean my Computer.

At least I don't lurk, jerk, troll and roll.

AZBILLIARDS is awesome, Thanks.

Thanks for taking the time to post! You are not a troll. A troll is someone who posts in an effort to be negative or start a confrontation for no reason other than to make someone angry, upset, etc. Generally people who's lives are so miserable they only get joy from bringing other people down.

So you are most defiantly not a troll

My name is Jared. I post on here every once and a while. I don't always have an opinion on every post. I have played pool as a hobby for the last 11 years. I love to read this forum, but there are definitely some crazy negative people on here. So I am sure I can speak for a lot of people when I say that is what keeps me from posting more. Anytime somebody newer starts a new thread people jump on their case about already having a similar thread on that subject. So I will be a lurking junky with an occasional post.

Hi Jared;

There will always be the pains-in-the-ass on any internet forum but I can say with certainty that they are in the distinct minority here on az. Sometimes it doesn't feel like it, though, I agree.

Good guys and gals should not hesitate to join in.

The majority of good members will have your back.:thumbup:

I have learned a lot of little things off this forum that is for sure. I also love to browse. With how busy my life is I don't always have a lot of time to read as much as I would like. If anyone is up in the Dickinson ND area ever let me know and we can meet up and play a few.

Hi I am Billy

I have been lurking since 2010 , i do occasionally post but not often , the negative aspects don't bother me so much as you will always have the haters who want the world to think they know more or better than everyone else . But that's the minority

In my 5 years or so here i have managed to meet some genuinely great people who have helped me in ways many of them probably don't realize , from advice on fundamentals , aiming systems , and many times just a kind word or two when i am not having the best of days .

I have been playing about 25 years i guess since my early teens , have played in halls and bars all over the country and a few places in Asia . Pool has always been a part of my life and always will be , I may never be in the money in a big tourney but the experiences pool has given me over the years are some of the best of my life

I am always looking to improve my game . I don't play as consistent now as i once did but i play a lot smarter than i did then . just wish my 46 year old mind was there when i had my 20 year old eyes lol

I have always enjoyed being a member here and look forward to meeting more of the great people that shares the same love of this crazy obsession of ours

I would consider myself a lurker. Read everyday, rarely post. I love this site though.

Started playing pool 2 years ago at age 30, yep you guessed it by a friend inviting me to join an APA league. I found this site when googling info on a good starter cue. I then got hooked looking at the for sale section and learned that Szamboti and Southwest cues were out of my price range but awesome to look at.

This site really helped me improve my game, I found Dr. Dave's videos and website from his post here. Went from a 4/4 to a 7/6 in APA in 1.5 years only playing one night a week. I think that's why some of my favorite threads to read are "APA bashing" threads because without APA league, I'd never have found out how much I love pool, and wouldn't know names like Van Boening, Orcullo and other of the world's best or names like Jeremy Sossei and Josh Roberts, and I wouldn't have found out about the streams done by Upstate Al or Bigtruck or many of the other great streams out there.

My favorite threads that I've read over my time here has to be the JB and Lou one pocket match. I remember getting home from work and watching on my phone. It was a lot of fun to watch.

I've actually purchased US Open PPVs the last two years.
I've decided I want a 4 point custom with Black, electric blue, dark blue and white veneers and some SW style ring work.

Favorite player is SVB, other favorites are Sossei, Deuel, Morris, Appleton and of course Efren.

Anyways, love this place. Shoot straight!

Never been a lurker, pretty much posted from the day I got my login.
It runs in spurts, sometimes taking a break from here is a good thing.

Anyhoo, been playing this crazy game since I was 6, learned in my folks basement back in Michigan. (Redford Township to be exact)

In my 20's I started to take the game a lil more serious and learned way more than I ever thought I could learn about pool. Still love playing pool way more than anything else. My 3rd wife understands this well, the 1st two, not so much...

Unfortunately, that darn 4 letter word has probably kept me from getting to my full potential as a pool player. Most of you know it as "W-O-R-K". Yep 40 hrs per week gets in the way of being really good...lol

I can only imagine what the lurk count is for a 31,000 poster, what’s more, Keith McCready is Jennie Ann; this lurk anonymous thing has its PurCue’rRealities.

Lurking has its benefits though, however, you know when you have a lurking problem when the site go’s down giving the sense like you’re in a Walking Dead episode, search sites with empty links.
