Man, I am so excited, i got goose bumps, i really do. AZB is the greatest!!! we mite not get along all the time but you all coming together like this means more to me than anyone of you understand. I swear on my moms grave I mean that!!

I know it started as a joke and it was funny, but there is a layer of emotion under the joke and a truth, this past December right at the beginning of Mosconi Cup my cel rang, my cel never rings in Europe, and it was at a weird time in California for me to get a call, i dug it out of my bag and saw the number-I knew instantly my uncle had passed. He was 88, WW2 Veteran very active with VFW(up to 2 weeks before he died), great guy my mom's brother also my last blood family as i mentioned before. That call changed me, not right there on the spot. but over the past 5 months.

I saw Jay Helfert and told him, it felt kind of weird. Because i have known Jay for a very long time and we have been close, somehow i felt closer to Jay-but Jay didnt feel closer to me, because he didnt suffer any loss and wouldnt know, see thats the weird part nobody knows, you get condolences, but losing last family is a game changer. See thats what happens when you have ZERO family. Ken Schuman explained this to me a couple of years ago, i knew it was coming. So I was prepared as i could be.

All of your friends become more important and valuable to a person when they lose their whole entire family. I was a only child, and no cousins, mom was 40 when i was born, i have Kelly and thats the best ever!! but I have no kids. So ALL of my relationships have been redefined by the passing of my uncle. I'm not in love with everyone, but what ever i had with someone before is now just a bit more important, take that across a group of people AZB and it really means a lot .

Thanks everyone, i really appreciate it and I give everyone here my word i will do something for pool this year that will help some others out, spreading the kindness.

I still got goose bumps,

thanks again to everyone, it really means more-i said that, but damn it it does.

You don't look too bad in gold.

Now, you better be paying for all drinks and food at the VIP Lounge tonight. :)

Who needs black or platinum? A gold gift is, well, golden.

Thanks everyone. That was fun and funny and nice (just like KC) said.

I'm sorry for the loss of your last relative. I can't even begin to imagine not having any blood family as I have lots of family from all sides, my dad was one of fourteen.

My Dad was 40 & my Mom was 41 when she had me. I was the baby of all of my cousins. I have been to too many funerals in my life including all of my Aunts & Uncles as well as many on my wife's side. I just went to a funeral for my 4th. cousin to 'pass on' last week. When family & good friends 'pass on' it puts life here in perspective.

I'm sorry that you that your last family member has 'passed on'. Relationships here do become more precious as time & life move on.

Best Wishes,
Rick

PS thanks to Kevin, too. Great way to show our appreciation.

Wow, you guys are treating the gold thing like you won the lottery or sumthin lol... I haven't got so tied up into it myself.
But if it makes ya happy, that is what counts.

Glad to have helped fatboy get gold though, as he helped me out one time on a cue, not having to do so.

The next gold I help we see though is Billiards in the Olympics

Well, La Di, you know what Da.

But seriously, I heard Eric really isn't in Germany. Someone saw him hanging
Out behind the hall drinking out of a paper bag and peeing on dumpsters.

It's the least you could do for him.

It wasn't about becoming gold...

It's about the cameraderie that comes from people you are close to when you've lost the last person that is there unconditionally.

I feel you Eric, and know I'll always be a friend to you...

I snapped this photo of Fatboy today. He looked a little different today for some reason.

This is beautiful FATBOY!

I know because iam learning as i get older, about these different stages of life that we all go through, some times it is scary and other times it isnt, but boy if i would of just listen to some of the people that tried to tell me some important parts of life, that they already went through (lived), i could have things so much more easier for myself and family.

But hell i guess things are not to bad in the ADAMS household, we are all healthy and have a nice little home that we love.

But like you are saying FATBOY, a lot of times the simply things go a very far way!

It is a very great feeling to know that so many people do care about us, being loved and wanted is a very nice thing to know from time to time!

Always keep your head up very high FATBOY because a lot of people LOVE you, its not none of our faults if we have little to no familys, but when one reaches out for a friend thats a hell of a person to find!

AZB has a warped sense of humor at it's core that really defines it. We are the Monty Python of pool forums.

It was certainly one of the better threads and the dry humor it had was well played and well received by all sides.

Grats on the gold Fatboy!
