Highendcues stolen cue on Ebay.. Indentify (sltjr64) Seller ....

You've already tipped him off by telling ebay. You now need to contact the police, as has been recommended.

He might give it up and just tell the cops that he bought it from an unknown seller.

If you reported it to the police when you sold it they will have records and you should get help from them.

eBay will release their contact information on the seller to you (assuming you are an eBay member) if you are a bidder on the auction. The request is processed immediately, eBay sends your contact info to him and his to you instantaneouly. Contact info will show name, city, state, zip and a contact phone number. Please let me know if I can be of assistance.

Don't you have to win the auction?

I called my eBay rep

I called my eBay "Top Level Powerseller" rep and they said you just needed to be involved in a transaction and that bidding would suffice, but they've been wrong before, Try it here:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=290175679133

on second thought, that auction might be "played out" already, try it here, this one will end up at 3K+, bid 500 and then see if you can request my stuff:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=290175677561

I bid and went to the "bid confirmation page".

If you can get "seller info" by bidding it's beyond me.

If possible walk us through the process.

Thanks

It worked, plus I just won a set of "Daupine" silverware. I always secretly wanted that stuff!

Wow, I just learned something. I thought you had to win the item.

Now I can call you at all hours of the night!

Here's a quote from eBay:

"1. To better protect the privacy of eBay users, you can only request contact information for eBay users who are involved in your current or recent transactions.
Examples are: Sellers can request the contact information for all bidders in an active transaction and the winning bidder in a successful, closed transaction.
Bidders can request the contact information for a seller during an active transaction and in a successful, closed transaction if they are the winning bidder. "

You go to "Advanced Search"
then on the left side find "Members" then "Find Contact Information" you'll need the auction number and eBay name you are requesting for.

1) bid on an item

2) fill out this form: http://search.ebay.com/ws/search/AdvSearch?advsearch=&sofindtype=9

3) They e-mail each of you the others listed phone information.

Hint: While I never advocate dishonesty, should you wish to protect your private phone number, may I suggest that you temporarily change your contact information until the request is complete? Thanks to this discovery, I know for me I'm putting in my work number from now on.

That Dauphine is for steppers. That paltry bid won't take it, if you really want it you'll have to come over here (you have my contact info) and bring an M, and a Palmer case, and a 10 just to fill it out, and then I'll think. I'm not sure you can handle that pierced asparagus server.

Check the "3 day test drive"

With all the back-and- forth regarding the feel of Richard Black's cues, I thought I'd put a "3 Day Test Drive" in this auction. I'd say I thought this cue hit great, but after the "Alex Brick Break Cue Fiasco" I now try to limit my claims regarding personal feel:

Ken,
I e-mailed you a few months ago when I saw the stolen cue on your site.
I was probably the second owner of this cue at one point and was sad to see it stolen from you if you recall my e-mail. I've been on the lookout since then and cant believe I have not seen it, being that the sellers location is about 15 miles from me. If I can put you in touch with anyone here locally let me know.

eBay is just like hanging out in pool rooms, both are fraught with pitfalls and danger, and both are way enjoyable (and profitable for some) once you have learned the moves.

Your stolen cue recoverey !

Ken.

I'm sure you made a Police Report when this cue was stolen.

Call the Police Department where you made the report and ask for the Detective's Division.

Once in touch with that Unit, tell the person who you speak to the date of your report and what it was concerning, then, that you would like to speak to the investigator that this case was assigned to.

This information can be aquired in moments all this information is kept on computer.

Tell the Detective whats going on and let him take it from there. Make sure he has your contact number and ask to be advised of any developements in the case.

It dosen't hurt if you don't hear something in a day, to give him a call back. The Detective should jump on this case at this time with whats going on with the e-bay thing.

If your not satisfied with the Detectives response to this case, call back and ask to speak to the Lutenant in charge of the Unit. Tell your story over to him, believe me, he'll listen.

The Boss never wants to hear the public is dissatisfied with his Investigators.

YOU NEED TO DO THIS NOW-DON'T WAIT-TIME IS OF THE ESSENCE !!!

That's What I'm Known For.... My THINKING

I think you all might be over reacting just a bit. Getting this cue back is simple.
Just offer a Reward....... No questions asked (and VIOLA ! )...... imo

The auction has been ended. Reason given: "The seller ended this listing early because the item is no longer available for sale."

Hopefully the police were notified about the auction.
