Video aside, hillbilly and jay are doing some of the best commentary I have ever heard. Accustats needs to put this pair together again.

I thought bad thoughts UNTIL they started. They worked excellent together. Hillbillie did a good job of saying what he would do and why, and what would happen if they didnt do it.

Great team really.

I really enjoy Hillbilly's commentary!! He has been on a few times now. He gives insight to the games and ads humor as well. Its nice to hear a new voice in the booth, and Charlie does very well there with his entertaining style, and knowledge of the game. He sure knows how to find the small winder. :)

Hillbilly the man

Boy did I enjoy the hillbillys insight on this game. He is the real deal, so humble, sure would like too see more of that. He is great for the game.

I sent him an email complimenting his efforts. I think he would probably like to hear from some people.

I agree, Hillbilly and Jay are like beans and cornbread. The past three matches over the past three days have been real treat. I feel spoiled. This tournament looks to be another DCC, or U.S. Open type appeal.

He's given his email out a few times.

Both Charlie "Hillbilly" and Jay are extremely knowledgable and down to earth...that comes across in person and on mic. Hillbilly is a part of our new Team CSI, American Grand Master's group, which was just launched publically in Galveston.

If you haven't read Jay's book Pool Wars, I encourage you to do so...a great read.

pool wars

I just read Pool Wars and being older than alot of you I was at several of these events he talks about. This is the best pool book I have read to date and I have read them all.
Jay and Hillbilly has done a great job on the commentation at Galveston.
These should be on espn instead of who they have, then more people would watch if nothing else for the commentary.
To both good luck and hope you can do this again next year and many in between.

By giving kudos to Jay and Hillbilly I am in no way slighting Joey, he has done a great job also.

Thanks Joey for all the work you are putting in.

My favorite booth commentators for the Galveston event were Jeremy Jones and JoeyA. I felt Jeremy told some very useful tips and did it in a very professional manner. He seemed to know every move that was going to be made next, including how the safeties would be executed

You motivated me to send the following email -- thanks for that! (당신이 내게 어떤 반응 동기. 감사합니다!)

Charlie,

When in the booth you made my job as a moderator much easier. You were on top of things and answered lots of questions way before they were even asked. Your insight and willingness to provide same was, and still is, greatly appreciated.

I require my students to watch certain streams as a learning process. I had told them on more then one occasion that you were a proponent of "systems" and were not afraid to share, unlike some -- sigh. Immediately after you stopped commentating, my students all commented that they were really glad I required them to watch this particular event. You and Jay were a perfect team! SK Custom Cues said it best on a thread on AZ: "Hillbilly and Jay are like beans and cornbread." (http://forums.azbilliards.com/showthread.php?t=156089)

We (me, my students, and I'm sure the entire pool community) are all looking forward to your upcoming books, wish you well in that regard, and thank you in advance for them! You sir, are a prime example of what pool should be! Appreciate you man!

Bob Enslow (aka: cmbwsu in chats and on AZ Billiards.)
