Sounds like there was NOTHING wrong with the Aramith Pros then.
I don't know how you get THERE if someone believes they can provide a better product, lol.

Hey Lou, I'm not a detective, but I do know a little bit about pool. Several players and myself (I was the TD) tested the original Cyclop cue ball and it unquestionably was rolling off badly. We brought this to the attention of the Cyclop rep and he acknowledged that there was a problem. It's actually common knowledge that Cyclop had a problem with the original cue balls and they subsequently corrected it. Whether you believe me or not doesn't change anything. You just like to question anything I say because of something that you're obviously lacking in your own self worth.
I'm not a psychologist either but that's my unfettered opinion. Maybe you never got enough love at home when you were a child, maybe you never got the recognition you think you deserve, maybe you really believe you know more about pool then the rest of us. Good luck with your delusions. I hope they serve you well.

I found another shot that may help decide in the cue ball vs table question (#2 in the list here)
For comparison:
1) The original shot

2) A highly similar shot/angle that also misbehaves
https://youtu.be/0Tv2GEfmDzw?t=1880
3) Ko's bender

Thanks. So, I just watched those three shots closely. The ball rolls to camera right every time (same camera pov).
Now, if it is the cueball that's the culprit, you'd expect the rolls to be random (i.e. It could roll left or right), but in those three videos, it always rolls right (as we look at it).
If I was forced to bet watching those clips I'd bet the table was the culprit.
Also very noteworthy, the rolls always seem to happen in the same part of the table, near that lower right quadrant as we look at it. I think that's more evidence that it's the table, at least when only considering those three clips as evidence.
Hey, Jay, I'm not a PI either but I know a little about pool too.
So you say there was this mythical testing of the Cyclop CB way back when -- where's the proof? Where's the video? Did you post about it back then when these "tests" were supposedly done? Is it just your word, Loopy Jay?
As far as the love I got as a child goes and your amateur psych anaylsis, you are grasping at straws and showing poor form for someone of your supposed stature in the pool world.

Mike's shot happened on the other side of the table, and rolled to the left.
(I'm assuming it's the same table with the same orientation. I don't know if it was the same cueball.):

You say you know about pool? What's the big deal about rolling a cue ball and watching what happens. No, we didn't make a video. There was no need for that. What we saw was obvious. The fact is the original Cyclop cue ball was changed. Just because you weren't informed doesn't mean it didn't happen.
You seem to have an inflated sense of your worth in the pool world Lou, as if anyone cares. I'm guessing many people on here see you as a big blowhard, who likes to beat his chest about winning a single One Pocket match against a near beginner. So far that's your claim to fame. Maybe one day you will find a way to make a real contribution somewhere. Of course if you do, I want to see the proof!![]()

Well, actually I did know about what was going on, probably way before you, having had several conversations about Cyclop with MG and PS.
And I have never said beating whatshisname was a big deal but having played pool for over forty years I do know a little something about the game. After all your years around the game all you seemed to have learned is how to issue 3rd grade-level insults, lol.

This is sad. You expect proof from him and then reply with a report of "conversations" you've had. Then you insult him like a 3rd grader by saying he issues 3rd grade-level insults. I'm not sure what you're hoping to gain from this thread, but I don't think you're going to get there.
Great comment Jay but you could have left out "seem to."
The cue ball "rolled off". Is it the cue ball? Is it the table? Is it an outcome of the shot? Is it Henry the Janitor?
It could be one or some or all of the above but, at the end of the day, it's they way it rolled and yes it happens to the pros too.
"Hohmann loses to Ko because of the Cyclop balls" - no he lost over the course of a whole match. Like we all did that time when we lost.
