The Ask the Pros category started out with a bang but now...

How about adding a category for the more loquatious, bright, interesting and knowlegable posters? We should allow them to manage their own site to suite their agenda so we can fully understand their message without distraction or flames/:)

Reactions: JAM
Let's make it Jay. It will keep him busy and maybe I can slip a trap bet by him:eek: Johnnyt

i want a section! i'm bright, interesting, and the other word too!

seriously, not sure it'd work too well in practice 1) because there's too many people that could have one, and 2) because i'm not so sure seperating all the interesting topics of conversation would be a good idea for the forum.

in general the more you divide things up, the less interesting each section becomes. in all forums.

My top fourm posters would be:

1. Jay
2. Jam
3. Blackjack
4. JoeyA
5. SJM
6. Linda Carter
7. Snapshot
8. vagabond
9. Russ
10. Freddy

That is a pretty good selection...i havent been here long enough to deserve my own. :(

LOL! :o In days gone by, when "JAM" initiated a thread (receiving 2,000-plus hits in less than a day), it was usually a tournament report, disseminating the LATEST pool smut; on the scene reporting, if you will. :p

Today, when "JAM" initiates a thread, it becomes a train wreck, pretty darn quick! :D

I like the ideal of Ask the Jay, Ask the Grady, Ask the Freddy, Ask the Billy Incardona sections, and I know I'm forgetting somebody. Oh, yeah. An Ask the Liljon, John Schimdt, Chris Bartrum, Mark Tadd, Buzzer, SpadeDevil, and the rest of the players who visit this site would also be very cool. Now we have a mechanism to communicate with Earl if we could have an Ask the Elizabeth section, too! Earl's name alone seems to always generate about 1,000 hits an hour. :) ;) :D

I hope this thread doesn't turn into a train wreck, like mine did, about suggesting a new forum category. Good luck! :D :D :D

I wouldn't worry about it. The boards are like a pool room or a bar. There are times when the chemistry is right, and other times when it just doesn't work. Don't like it? Just wait a month and you won't recognize the place.

There are always ups and downs. I remember one time I had several vicious battles going on simultaneously on two different web sites. A few weeks later, it was just smooth sailing like nothing ever happened. I think we've all been there.

No special categories please. I wouldn't really care for that. You can already ask me a question and if I have an answer I'll let you know. That's good enough for me. Thanks anyway.

train wreck?

Train wreck?

I think that thread is getting better by the post, or in other words:

RVS/jlK/374-237.402 also #CR746ab squared if you know what I mean!

Well no train wreck - no interest

Those that would be a part of a new category aren't interested or already have their own site it seems, I guess that one could search on their person of interest to see their POV or see interesting stories here on AZ Forum instead.

Nothing different...

How about we leave things as we are and if someone needs to ask JAM or Jay or anyone any questions, they can address them to that person... OR.... they can PM that person! That's an even better idea!

There are too many people who ARE the AZB community who would deserve a forum of their own. If you did that for only one, it would be unfair. If you did that for many, it would be ridiculous.

A smaller, slower forum community might benefit from from an ASK ? forum, but such a busy one as AZB would be better as is. Unless, of course, you're trying to tie someone up so they'd be too busy to create chaos and trouble elsewhere in the forum....... :)
