I know what you are saying, but what if i dont want it to be a full time career? Im perfectly happy doing this as a hobby, and truthfully, i already spend more time in my shop than i want to, but people keep wanting cues or cue repair, so i feel a little bit obligated to help them out. Im content with what ive done, and have no aspirations to be the next Haley, or TW . I suppose its just to each his own.

I started building in the Fall of `88; haven't punched a time-card since.
I learned early on that there's little to no money in building.
The money is in repair & custom repair. In Jan. of `01 I started doing all of Seybert's.
Seyberts has a tremendous website, of which, several pages are devoted to cues that I build.
These pages are currently 'turned-off'.
The amount of custom & repair work is such that I don't have time to build at the moment.
Honestly, I haven't built a cue in over a year now. There's just too much custom work to do.

If you scroll-down about 3/4 of the home-page, you'll see a group of 6 custom Predator shafts.
I built those shafts and that's just some of the custom work that I do everyday.
Any repair or custom work ordered thru Seyberts is done by me.
People have asked me in the past if I have a website and I tell them no. They look puzzled.
They say, "Man, you could get so much more business". I say, "Exactly my point".
"I already work dbl. shifts, 7 days a week. How much more work do you think I can stand"?
I farmed for 26yrs. I had to give that up in 2010 due to Sey's work-load being so overwhelming.
I've since moved from my farm to my lake property where my shop is.
Driving back & forth, twice a day was becoming too much, not to mention costly and inefficient.
I'll turn 65 this month. With the Grace of God, I may have a few more years with Sey.
I'm by no means complaining. I have the greatest job in the world, to me anyway.
I've worked my whole life to be where I am now.
All my experiences and all I've learned have led me to this point. This is what I want to do.
I'll go back to building when time allows. Until then, I've got a job to do.
Hopefully, I haven't painted this with too dark of a crayon. That's not my intent.
I love what I do. It causes me to willingly get out of bed in the morning (without an alarm clock).
I'm comfortable, I'm content and I make good money. What more could you want???
