In 28 years of playing this game, I'm not sure how much I've lost. Let's just say, if I had all my money back, I'd be headed for a comfortable retirement. It's a good thing I was having fun the whole time.

I have never been in the red gambling from day one, if I was a losing gambler I wouldnt gamble.

i just found out my x-girl i left 3 years ago blew $1,200,000 playing video poker, stupid *****, not my problem.

I'm not good enough to gamble at pool but I like to play some Black jack now and again.
Most I ever lose is $500. Thats all I bring with me .
Most I've ever won is about $6800 . I was like a god that day could do no wrong at one point was up over 10k. I quit when it really started going the other way.

As an aside there are some people who lose everything. I should know.
My Father worked hard for many years and built a very successful used car busissness . I would say in 1985 or so he was probably worth around 3 million. Always liked betting on football it was nothing for him to be up or down 20k in a weekend. Then he started playing Keno. It was the beginning of the end. He is now 63 and has lost everything, lives in a crappy apartment and drives a old Isuzu pickup that I gave him.
I could give him somthing better but he would just sell it to get more money to play Keno. That's what he did with all his Christmas gifts.
He basically gets his ss/disability check on the 26th of the month, pays his rent, buys a little food and then it's off to the keno parlor. He's generally flat broke buy the 5th or 6th of the next month.

That is truly is sad. I struggle to build my 401k before I retire, rolling the max allowed by law into it each year. It is a real shame that he was in a position to retire comfortably and literally gave it away. I wish him the best of luck righting his ship, but I guess it won't matter that much now.

I'd rather gamble playing pool (with something I have a liitle control over) VS gambling at the casino.
Don't get me wrong...I donated 300 last week at the 3 card poker table. (Wife loves to go, play 2 cent machines) I go because she wants to go. Costs me $$$ 8 out of 10 trips.

casinos is where i have been beat the worst...lost 1-3k probably 4-5 times. The largest amt lost was when I could least afford it, back in 87 when i was a broke ass student at Cal Berkeley. I was all pumped up from making $3k buying and selling New Years tickets to Grateful Dead shows and went to Reno and lost nearly everything in about 30 min on the craps table. The real sick part of that story was that I had hooked up with this lovely gal on the bus ride over to reno and I should have just gotten a room like she was hinting at. Instead 1 hr after getting off the bus together I was so disgusted from losing, I just went back to Berkeley ASAP. bleh

I actually have a winning record in blackjack. I seem to get pumped up playing Blackjack and then I take those winnings and blow them on craps and betting football. Football betting i can admit to being a real sucker. I can do things that defy odds like going 0-10 betting bowl games in 1989 and 1-15 betting the pros in 1993. I swore off sports betting after 93 and have pretty much stayed away from football, although occasionally i still do something now and then. I am really glad I no longer bet sports. Not so much the money but the time was ridiculous because I was never one to bet sports and not sweat the action. Before I had kids I probably spent 20+hrs a week watching sports, solely bc I was betting on the games. Now I spend that time with my wife and kids and work.

The casino won all bets and then some! - It's all rigged, they should at least use a gun for all the people who get taken- the casino makes the rules, and they pay fines,for jammimg up the machines. and some people call it gambling mark Rule no.1 why give your hard earned money to the indian casino? not

The most I've won in one night is $17,000 after paying the tabs and kicking the guy behind the counter $600 for stayin up all night. Took me 24 hrs. And that was the third time we had gone through all that business, the guy never won a set. While he was in the area his tally lost after bout 6 months was just over the $150,000 mark. Most I ever lost was $1,200 to Joey Gray.
