its certainly not too hard, just walk around your yard and look for a nice chunk of lumber. When you hone in on a real wild and crazy piece, just bring it inside and then sit down and doodle a little picture of whatever comes to mind. Now remember you have a long way to go, so dont take too much time on the picture part. When you get these two done lay them on a table like this and take a pic, so you wont forget how easy it all was.

Okay, so now you go down into the basement and find that old Dremel tool that you used once and get it ready. Insert a very ultra sharp 45 thousanths bit into that baby and get ready to start carving, your as good as done by now....well almost

Well dont put that trusty Dremel away just yet. you have a bunch of white plastic type pieces to cut up still, but make sure that you put the 65 thousanths bit on, because this white plastic type stuff is hard. Then just stick them in the holes...

Now when you thought you were just about ready to finish up, you realize you still had some holes to fill....well stop reading this crap and get going

So here we are with only a few short steps and Wallah a big bad cue. But it looks kinda dull so grab a can of polyurethane and go to town on that chunk of lumber. And to top it all off get some nice contact paper to put over that bare wood in the middle. When you are done it should look something like this, or maybe a little better. And I would bet that you should even be able to talk some unsuspecting schmo into buying it for at least $200 maybe more. Well good luck on your cue building and if you have any problems just call BIG STEVE THE CUSTOM WRAP SPECIALIST.

So let me get this straight, I can build a cue with a Dremel tool. Then why does everyone tell me I need a lathe to put a tip on properly?

Nice post, Tikkler. And the "BB" could easily stand for "Bad Boy", cuz that's what that piece is.

Look at that handle!
Nice tight grain. I bet the cue hits sporty.

Beautiful work! Absolutely mind-boggling inlay work.

Awesome thread! Here is what your post has done, it has changed my mind about cue making. Seriously, let me explain. I have not been a fan of CNC inlays in the past. I always viewed rounded points as inferior and associated CNC with them. I thought of CNC cues as mass produced cues with no real soul to them, even if they were one-of-a-kind. Tony's work is so unbelievable because he is not using CNC as some kind of shortcut to cue making but he is rather using all the latest tools available to the master craftsman and furthering the art of cue making to a whole new level, not previously thought possible. If I'm misinformed and he is doing this work on a pantograph then my mind is so blown and I bow down to his insanity. I'm pretty sure this is CNC though, and I DO NOT mean that as an insult (in Tony's case only). WOW!!! I am a fan of this cue. Thanks for sharing.

Actually the word Wallah is a word used here in the hood, meaning kick ass bad. Lol

Yeah, well in the "hood" words take on new meanings, even if they make no etymological sense whatsoever. "Dope" means good, "money" means good, "bomb" means good, "sick" means good... shit, case in point, even "BAD" means good... you know, in the "hood".

But sometimes, as Hugh Anthony Cregg III has taught us, "bad" is just simply bad:

But don't forget what Drexl Spivey said in True Romance...."sometimes Bad ain't always Bad"...........lol

I can't begin to say how much I enjoy this thread..I was scrolling down slowly on my phone and was wishing it wouldn't end..
I seriously enjoy seeing how cues are made via photos it's just idiot proof for someone like me to understand.. Wish there were more...

Hey, this "unsuspecting schmo" will give you $200 for that cue...heck, I might go up to $300 if you really press the issue. I too have a dremel and I could use that to etch my name in the butt...right there next to those BB initials.

I've always loved that cue...and amny of the Black Boar others as well. They are beautiful. Great work.

Interesting thread. A fun read...thanks.

Now that's some serious multilayer and tiny inlay craziness. Did someone say magnifying glass and tweezers? I always love the progress pics on cues but this is the first ones I've seen of a masterpiece design level cue. Even with CNC this is not an easy thing to do but with a dremel in hand it would be almost impossible. You better have a strong grip like a gorilla and steady hand to even draw the outline with a dremel manually ;) Shoot it's hard just to draw the pattern with a pencil!

Thanks Steve, for posting this bad azz mutha's path from stick on the lawn to completion!

pretty little flowers everywhere but im going to show everyone a SWANKIN ass Black Boar real soon. Thats a word reserved for kings

its when I choose to post pictures and its a mans cue, just gold, ivory and beautiful Kingwood no pretty flowers for me.

Well that is soooo sweet. Thank God you came along, to straighten Tony out. All these years he had no idea he was making pansy ass flowery cues. Finally a real MAN has come along to teach Tony, how to get out of the garden and make MENS cues.....lol

Thanks, Tikkler. I didn't realize it was that easy to make a cue, I think i'll try it .

(Nice cue by the way).

Hey Steve,

I forgot, how many Black Boars do YOU own? I lost count.

Sorry,
Chris
