You guys must have some VERY acurate speed control and some VERY amazing pockets... because if I try that 'titty hook' shot from that spot on almost any table in South Florida, it's going to get sucked in... This is another shot where I'm not saying you're wrong... but you've got an even money gamble (for cheap) if you're ever around here.
That shot might be more plausible, for me, if it was on one of the Diamond tables at DCC. On all the GoldCrown's down here that shot looks very tough...

take a choice

nudge the nine a leave frozen or close to frozen, or bank to end rail leaving cue ball frozen on side rail

This angle looks like a double kiss, but I think if you play the CB to the middle of the bottom rail, the OB takes pretty much the same path.

My choice was this same path, but with the CB played four rails, which banks the OB two rails to end up in middle of bottom rail..

Russ, there is no kiss. You are driving the cue ball straight through the nine with force follow.The right english is to assure that the cue ball stays to the right side of the short rail. Try it, let me know how it works for you.

This recommended shot is a nice shot for sure, if you know it, but for guys like me who don't, a shot can be borrowed from bank pool that has some merit. Bank the nine two rails into the side pocket, managing your speed with great care. This shot is shown in the top table below, and if you manage your speed with care and play the cue ball properly, you will often leave no more than what is shown in the second table below if you miss.

That shot's not that hard from that close. give it a try
