i cant use the table........u know what im talking about, diagram it for me lol. Cue ball hanging in the side pocket with the titty between it and the 9.....super simple to do once you practice it a couple times
 
I ended up with this positon once. I was on hill, way ahead of my opponent, playing for 50$.

I jacked up the cue, sent the 9-ball in the corner and the cueball hit the side-pocket and back on to the table. (Don't know if I would do the shot on hill-hill for 500 $ though)

I think I might would try the same on this shot, but maybe the distance between the balls are too far. If too far I would choose a safetyshot.

Looks to me from the way they are set up that a high percentage safe would be to play the nine stright ahead to hit four rails to the short rail and play the cue ball with follow to the opposite short rail.

Don't know how to use the cuetable either. But, I know the shot and it's beautiful when executed correctly. just roll the cue ball up enough to have the nine hit the rail and the cue rest behind the side pocket point.

Make sure your hands are not shaking while shooting this.:eek:

For that kind of money, I would be willing to risk a safety battle. I would go ahead and push the cueball into the 9 softly as shown below.

I would let my opponent try to do the same or play a risky safe, and hopefully I'll get some kind of shot later.

If my opponent taps the 9 into the rail, I would try to freeze the 9 to the rail - forcing my opponent to play a risky safe sending the cueball or the 9 to another rail.

if you are going to play safe here(and im all for it for the cheese) i dont like laying up on the 9 here.you dont get it froze and then he does and youre back to playing a safe that you should have played to start with.i like just thinning the 9 down on the bottom rail with seperation from the cue and it cant be banked.

I tried that safety, crossing over the 9 to separate them, and I couldn't get enough angle on the 9 without a double kiss to pull it off.

lol,well its very hard for me to tell how the balls lay exactly in these pictures.i guess without having this set up in front of me i cant say for sure what i would do but if the 9 does not go for sure in the corner then im coming with some kind of safe with seperation here,forcing him to exucute a perfect safe under pressure.

i gotta go with aze on this one. i learned this safety and used it twice the same week. either that or punch the cueball with a little high and force the 9 ball around 5 rails and leave a lot of distance
 
cornerhook? daimn. checking the top backend of the pocket would determine whether id go 'jacked up' for the lower corner or do the defensive battle. it would have to be one heck of a lip on that pocket for me to go defense.

I tried this ten times and was and was successful ten times.

I don't know how to use the cuetable gizmo. Can some one diagram this for me. Using follow with right english to kill the cue ball on the short rail.

I've seen you play many times but I don't think we've ever played. You have a beautiful game and an excellent table demeanor. My name is Chris Tate. I don't get out too much but I played at the Plush Pocket for many years mostly in the 1970's and now occasionally play at Hollywood Billiards. I'm a cue collector but I get out to tournaments when I can, 9 ball. I'm also a friend of Corey Harper who knows you very well. I'll introduce myself if I see you.

This angle looks like a double kiss, but I think if you play the CB to the middle of the bottom rail, the OB takes pretty much the same path.

My choice was this same path, but with the CB played four rails, which banks the OB two rails to end up in middle of bottom rail..

This is a very simple shot. As it has already been posted, just play it with a little follow. Push the 9 ball a few inches and roll the cue ball up to the cushion and ti**ie hook um. It's a great safety!!

I really like this bank, I mean I really like it. But the first shot I saw was corner hook the guy. Its a one pocket shot. After looking farther its not as easy at it appears. If the 9 was a tiny bit more towards the corner I woud not hesitate. Or if the angle was a little more straight. The beauty of it is speed and aim line, no need to worry about getting a rail, that happens naturally. A little nuge and their corner hooked.

Pretty much what I'd do...the odds of getting no shot even w/ a good hit are slim....
