I am a Producer for American Road Player, Let's Talk

Reality

There is no way in the world that 4 or 5 pool players can make a living on the road together, especially the way Scooter and his crew gamble, they will bet on anything, flipping coins, ect ect ect. They would have to have a nother way of making money while on the road, as most of us know they do.

Neither one of them are near a top players speed, so with that being said they better be very careful of who they play and match up with.

I cant wait to see this happen (show) , but in realality how can these guys make the scores nite after nite that it takes to survive while playing pool for a living on the road, They just are not capable of generating all the money that would be needed for them to survive on the road by playing pool ONLY.

I would give them a so so chance of making it on the road if they didn't gamble the way scooter does (BETTING ON ANY THING).

One doesn't bet on 50- 50( flipping coins) games while on the road and survive!

But I honestly do Hope Scooter and the crew comes through with these show, I will be watching!

Scooter and the boys must beat a hugh nut, to send money home to their familys and have enough in their pockets to move on from one place to the next!

Matching up and gambling has not so much to do with one's skill or ability at the game as it does with their ability to recognize a "mark" or match-up. I am telling you that this is huge and that yes, you can scrape by and make a good score from time to time. However, reality will takeover. You will not make off well unless you are a top player...meaning top 5% or better. Hustlers typically cheat that. Today's youth are all about hustlers. Just listen to the music!!!

One does not have to be a top player like Shane to be on the road. 30-40 years ago APA 7 was enough to be on the Road.. Now days there are more good players all around the country. U have to be Arizona rating system`s 9 or 10 to make a living on the road. Scooter plays definitely at Arizona's 10s speed. U just rob the players of 7 and 8 speed and avoid playing 10 minus 1 and 10 minus 2.

let me make things simple

Well as you did not, or don't get the joke I made, let me make my point real simple for you to get hopefully.

Only sick people see the humor in a joke about sex and children. That isn't the kind of humor I would ever want to "get". If the above is your idea of humor then without trying to attack or play internet games I strongly suggest you seek help.

The "joke" is on you Bruce! This whole thing is internet driven, including when and where you'll be able to "see" it (and, according to this thread, trying to drive donations for upfront production costs). It has nothing to do with broadcast television, dvd sales, or cable tv. It doesn't matter if you're "in a prime spot", because you can access the program anytime 24/7.

When I saw in the trailer of American Road Player it seemed to me like it had a better chance of attracting an audience, keeping an audience for more than 5 minutes. Than shows like the Boo Boo Show. that apparently was a hit???

Some of the shows on cable TV make me question what the target audience is for some shows, and who really watches some shows week, after week. Attracting sponsor to buy time that is part of the equation to keeping a show in a prime spot.

But than I understand America has been dumbed way down. So maybe those cable TV producers know more about the demographics of TV viewer than I do.

Now I am watching TV, and we have a promotion advertising a 3 Hour Long Whale Wars Special coming up in a few days. I am sure people will be glued to their TV's watch this special...ME NOT!

New reality Show.

Coco Boobla

It centers around Coco taking ESL classes. Should last at least 5 seasons.

And then he joins Menza. It's actually Mensa Bruce.

And then there is a spin off.

Kukla Bolo and Ollie.

it doesn't hurt to ask & you've done a good job in marketing to those herein for $$$$$.

so you've had enough funding for 3 yrs, to not be able to project anything. you've got $60K currently "committed", and now you need another $40K in the next 30 days - because it's 6 wks till DCC - and you're asking in the middle of Xmas season & year-end taxes?

damn, that's $3400/day!

you state that a "full refund" will ensue if your project (involving a felon) doesn't get off the ground - yet you can't disclose where/how funds are appropriated for your "ïnvestors".

i find it odd, that yáll come on here at the last minute (in DEC!), asking for $40K w/ no documentation. slick -

I would daresay that a public forum is anywhere for that accusation. I can absolutely say with one hundred percent guarantee that nobody I personally know would get hustled for that amount and still be waiting for payment today.
Problem here is everyone is a lawyer. You dont know half the crap pulled by guys like this. They have no problem robbing people with their little dog and pony show.

Enough people in the know can confirm this as fact. I was at DCC last year and seen it. By SBE he still wasn't paid off. If that boy was my son, somebody would have shot their last air barrel.

I`m gonna take some heat for this. But i hate your idea!
The fact that you only raised $680 makes me think I`m not the only one...

The way you portray pool is why pool is not considered a serious sport, but a hobby foir loosers and gamblers.
This might very well be a "Euro" thing, but seeing blow hard retards like the ones in your promo makes me cringe! Guys tearing their shirt of, to show their flabby body is just beyond embarrassing. And btw in your promo video "scooter" scratches on the break...

I'd rather see our American action men than your blue-blooded emotionless tournamaent soldiers playing mum pool any day of the week.

The Euro robots are beyond embarrassing. Almost like watching the Night of the Living Dead seeing Euros play pool.

I think we can agree to disagree JAM.
If you want pool to be a serious sport, the Euro approach is the way to go.
If you want to watch a trainwreck, you can go the Las Vegas route.

Pool does not get much exposure, so I would rather see that exposre be positive, than continuing to confirm pool as being a hobby for compulsive gamblers and (no offense) white thrash men from the southern areas of USA.

Who in the heck do you think you are to dictate what's right or wrong with pool today?

It is okay to have an opinion, but when you start saying "white trash men from southern areas of the USA," you're sounding a wee bit like a racist.

When "The Color of Money" and "The Hustler" movies came out, it was a boon to American pool. Don't you ever forget that, Euro.

I'm not 100% sure, but

I am assuming that when you say "blow hard retard" that you are not giving a compliment.

Kind of sickening to have a Euro come on this forum and spew ugly words like this. Again, it's okay to have an opinion. There has always been a tension or conflict, if you will, between pool purists and action enthusiasts, and that's okay, I think.

I won't stand down, though, to the racist remarks about white men in the South.

This is the problem. Trying to voice an opinon results in a shouting match..
I agree the Husler was great, but the movie was not really about pool. The colour of money made pool hip for a short while.
But that way of portraying pool will never attract big money sponsorship.
I`m not a racist by any strech.
I`m just saying that this "American road player" falls into the same category of quite a few of the tv series of late, Ice road truckers, hardcore pawn (truly despicable!), operation repo, moonshiners, Alaskan bush people, gold rush, duck dynasty etc etc.
I think you see a theme here.
These shows are in essence singeling out one group of the American population.
Working class, white, mostly male, often from the south and often fundamenatlist religious.
I did not create that phenomenon, blame Discovery, TLC and Nat Geo.
It`s just a shame that this pool documentary follows in that vain.
So you see there is nothing racist in my remark. If you should react to anything, you should react to how white, working class, American males are portrayed on tv.

See my reply JAM and you will see that there was NOTHING racist in what i was saying.
