I Broke My D@#n Wrist

Broke mine in the same spot a few months ago. It was so badly shattered they couldn't attach plates internally. They had to put an external device (See Photo) wore it for 2 months then needed about 3 months physical therapy before I could play pool again. Have only about 80% range of motion now but still play about the same level as before. Good luck.

Hang in there. I broke my collarbone in Jan. and was out for a good 2 months before I could play comfortably again. I had surgery, physical therapy, etc.

It hurts to be away from pool but get that thing fixed and make that your priority. You won't lose as much off your game as you'd think. You have the rest of your life to play pool.

Um, you do realise the Spiderman webshooter is supposed to go under your arm?

Just kidding. That looks horrible, I doubt I could put up with that thing on my arm. Will you get full range of motion back? I hope you do.

Can't get full range of motion back without additional sugery. The bones grew back together in a slightly different position than they were originally. They would need to be grinded down in certain places to allow full rotation. By the way, I broke it while standing on a chair installing a new pool table light in my basement!

Hey Guy's was going through some old post looking for something else. Just to let everyone know I healed up fine. Have about 90% range of motion, only bothers me when I over exert myself. Thanks for all the well wishes, and no it didn't have any ill effects on my game. If anything I actually got better.

That's great news, BC. Glad to hear it went well.

Injuries

Sorry to hear about your broken wrist. Hopefully tou will mend & things will be OK. One of our locals got his wrist broken. He was a good 6-7 speed before. After he played all summer in his cast, he went to 8-9 Speed. He's a 10 speed now. It was a phenominal change.

I have to wonder if his wrist in a cast made a great change in his grip. I don't know what happened, we just know it happened.

You will come back to pool with a new focus! Friend of mine years ago lost an eye in a fireworks injury. He was just an average player and when he came back to the game he had this crazy focus and desire to perform and ended up being a much stronger player!!! Don't forget the day of your surgery, some poor soul will lose his leg or be diagnosed with brain cancer! Another friend fell off a ladder and crushed his heel. He still limps to this day. Everything is relative. Good luck my pool shooting friend.

An old post revival.

Now I see your wrist was broken in 07. Well you can still learn one handed, but it will be harder without the focus of having only one hand.

You shoulda been shooting pool instead of hoops. I have never seen a broken wrist from shooting pool although it can be hard on thumbs.

Hu

I don't get it, Hu.
How's everything down South? How far are you from New Iberia, just in case I'm down that way come Summer?

Oh, yeah. Sorry about the wrist, Black Cat.

The Hustler and a few more old movies

I don't get it, Hu.

Oh, yeah. Sorry about the wrist, Black Cat.

Breaking the thumbs of a hustler was a good way to give him a little time to think about his ways. Speaking of ways, I'm a ways from New Iberia but that doesn't mean I couldn't stray down there. There are places that know how to party but I never found any place that knew how to party better than cajun country and New Iberia is in the heart of Acadiana.(cajun country) Best looking and sexiest sounding ladies this side of anywhere too. I'm starting to feel like Yosemite Sam, "Time's a'wast'n!" Maybe I'll head on down to New Iberia and wait on you. A few months ain't too long.

Hi there,

Sorry to hear that. I busted up my left wrist about 15 years ago. That's really tough. Alot of stuff in there to make sure it's in the right place again.

Hopefully it will be a simple fix.

I wince just thinking about it. Good luck my friend.

Mine still hurts a little all the time.
