I didn't expect to wake up to this...

Your are entitled to your own opinion. That is the beauty of the first ammendment. Same as my feelings on the video (not a stream) , as well as IP's response. Even up to the point when I chose to submit the thread. Sorry to be a such a "BORE" to you. This is a "FREE FORUM" and would suggest possibly finding more stimulating reading material while online.

Of course I am entitled to my opinion, why is that even relevant? I have a kneejerk reaction to pussified moralistic offense-takers; nothing personal, and no *offense* intended.

Having said that, I've always found Alvin to be slightly retarded and though I appreciate his streaming efforts I'd appreciate it more if he never said a word on the streams. Also, I'm well aware of IP's atrocious track record as a business, but on balance the sheer babyish crying of this thread is more annoying by far.

No offense taken. It just upsets me by how annoyed you are by the thread. I must apologize. That was not my intention.
May I suggest trying the forum where this guy hangs out. I believe you will find it more to your liking.

This isn't the first time that people have posted re a Free Stream, If ya don't like it, don't watch it.

Yeah, that rings true if in the past, people were complaining about the quality of the actual stream itself. Sure, they do the best they can, if you have a problem with the Quality of our Free Stream, then FK Off and don't watch it.

But this isn't the same by a Country Mile.

Mike merely let them know that he wasn't pleased with the language used during the broadcast from the people that were commentating.

I am sure that he wouldn't be the only one in North America that would feel the same, just that he was the only one that we know of that let them know about it.

Is anyone really surprised???

Isn't this the same response that they give to their subscribers that don't get their magazine???

Jaden

They should just start printing the magazine out of the same paper that they use to make Cottonelle TP.

That stuff is absolutely the best.

That way, should anyone be lucky enuff to actually receive their subscription, it can be put to good use.

There are a ton of people that are trying hard, often at their expense to bring back the game of pool to where it once was.
Quite a few post on AZ.

So all it takes is a few Cabbage Heads like this to undo all the progress that was made thus far.

Should these people be Spanked Publicly. Of course they should.

Actually this is a good thread. You can learn a lot about a persons character, or lack there of, by some of the responses. Pretty easy to figure it out. As for the original post, is it really true, or something manufactured? I have no way of knowing except for one persons word. I guess I would have to see it myself. Way to easy to blow crap around in our modern, technological world. I guess I want to hear the other side of the story. If it is true, then anything inside pool produces will not be supported by me.

Character. ......integrity. ....honor..... all the things that so many of you said is missing in our sport. So many times I've read on here about the general public view on pool and ways to make it better. Then so many do an "about face" and suggest the bar room mentality is ok. And that's what it is. Bar room mentality thinking that this is acceptable behavior for any business to tell that to a customer, whether its free or not.

Just one question......what if it was your 10 year old daughter that was told by Inside Pool to "F" off and die? How would you feel about it then?

The point of that is the person at inside had no idea who he was talking to. It could have been a kid....or a NUN! Or you mother. Showing simple respect is not too much to ask.

I for one thought it was funny and to be honest was a brilliant marketing move lol...

Exactly Joey, and the same scenario that I was thinking previously.

You take your kids to a 4th Of July Celebration. They are giving out Free Ice Cream.

The guy hands you kids 2 ice cream cones and says, "Her ya go, now get out of here, you ungrateful little buggers".

Does that make it Ok because it was Free Ice cream.

I'd tell her to walk it off, that it's not a big deal and the world isn't ending bc someone on the internet responded rudely to her critical comments. I'd explain that while no one should go out of their way to offend people, no one has the right NOT to be offended either, and that being moralistic about stupid, silly, unimportant things such as a song or a few curse words is just about the most annoying and boring activity a person can engage in.

Then I might or might not take a baseball bat with me to the next venue IP is streaming from and break Alvin's skull along with all his equipment for telling my little girl to ****off and die. Then I'd end up in prison, and my little girl will be w/o her daddy, and turn to drugs and alcohol and stripping. Who knows?

Lol, imagine a nun being told to ****off and die. First the children, then the nuns, oh the horror...the horror!

And here is an example of the "character" I was talking about. Bar room mentality.

Buddha means enlightened.... At this point in the thread you need to change your screen name...........

Well yeah......for free ice cream a person should be willing to take all sorts of verbal abuse. Duh....

What kind of lame example was that?

Speaking of Cabbage Heads. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

Twas wondering when you might show up to have an issue with anything that I posted in this thread, or any other for that matter.

That will be the day that I justify anything that I type on AZ to you John Boy.

Still feeling a little butt hurt over the Chady thread and looking for a cheap excuse to carry it on I see.

Or was it the Joke Thread in NPR where you unsuccessfully tried to belittle Wilson with a Lame joke that you made up. Is that it.

You received a nice warm welcome in NPR just the same as you do over at Jimbo's Army.

With you, it could be anything when the worms start squirming.

The reply from insidePOOLmag was totally uncalled for.
I haven't seen the video so I really can't comment with any authority, except to say that profanity is unnecessary.
As for the background music being "provocative" I can't see how that is InsidePOOLmag's fault?

I don't know the whole story but from what I understood it was edited in music not just music playing in the background. I'm trying to get my nephew who is 6 into pool and I wouldn't be happy with him listening to that music yet... Then again I rarely listen to the commentary anyway and just enjoy the games without the extra nonsense unless I like the person so it wouldn't have been hard for me to turn the sound off. Same reason I tend to bring my earbuds to league. I don't like to shoot with them but if they have the music up loud and it's mostly rap I tend to put my earbuds in.

The bigger problem here is that society is flushing itself down the shitter with concerns of political correctness rather than having the balls to outwardly reject this infestation of garbage without worrying about hurting some scumbags feelings.

It is now 2 generations deep which means all we can do is lower ourselves to the new norm. There's no longer a map to go back, and our youngsters don't even know this is crap, so pull your pants down around your ass and get used to it.

I bring my 8 year old to pro pool tournaments. He's been into pool since he was five, Pretty much because I was always in the basement shooting after work. He may or may not take up pool in anything other than recreationally, but he learns a lot watching and experiencing matches. It's a great teacher for what life will bring, the game of pool. He was right there table side watching Shane van Boening practice, he watched how anyone can excel in this sport as long as you are truly dedicated, even if you have a disability such as hearing loss or one arm. There are great examples of how hard work gets you to the top levels in whatever career he chooses. I watched him walk around and collect autographs from Thorsten Hohmann or earl strickland, and in every time, everyone has a big smile to see the little guy talking pool with them. Sure there were the racking arguments or occasional bad word yelled out in frustration (I'm sure he's heard that through the house floor, when I missed position to beat the ghost, so it's nothing new) but for the most part, this sport is perfect for a young mind to observe and interact with and learn from. Much better than hero worshipping a larger than life basketball or football player who couldn't be bothered, living a life of a king.

All of this is assuming you can even take your child into your local pool playing establishment without their young mind being bombarded with all kinds of "wholesome" images and language.

Most of us aren't really offended by the coarsening of our culture anymore; it's more so we are annoyed by it. Most of the crap you hear coming out of the jukeboxes at many places isn't clever, witty, deep, or worthwhile on any level. Instead it’s worthless drivel with a good beat. If it had any socially redeeming quality attached to it I probably wouldn't mind having my children hear some of this stuff and then use it as a teachable moment. Unfortunately, there's nothing to be learned from it. Instead, it just becomes more noise that their young minds have to deal with.

So, you have two choices: You can be the old fuddy-duddy and ask the room attendant if they would mind turning off the offensive music at 2:00 in the afternoon, or you can just stay home.

I just stay home and we all wonder why the game is dying.
