I have to get some padding for my bum...

I just got a phone call from my friend who is a sportscaster for ESPN radio (who knows I'm a big hockey fan), and the two of us will be skating tomorrow night for "Can You Skate Better Than A First-Grader"! We go out on the ice after the first period hahaha

Why am I so excited to be making a fool out of myself?? :p

We'll be going out for the after party and shoot pool to celebrate our silliness. Now that I can do!

I am sure you will look graceful and elegant. You may also make a real dumbass of yourself :0 good luck and I hope the nerves don't get to ya.

good luck!! Sounds like a blast!

I'm bringing my skates, but the blades need some sharpening. As for grace, you could say I skate like a first grader! I know the photographer who shoots the games so I'll get plenty of pictures. I'm sure I'll get some video I can post online, too!

Will you be wearing one of those short skirt staking outfits. They always make for nice photo's when you fall:D Johnnyt

Pfft... I'll be wearing jeans, thank you very much! I don't need to sport any bruises with tennis weather coming up!

Just pull a Kurt Sauer ( Av's D ) and throttle the shit out of anyone on the ice who gets within 5 feet of you :D

Don't try any "jump" shots! Missing may result in something like this....

I don't have access to youtube at work, but will check those out when I get home! My "skating" is more like shuffling anyway!

It's the last game before the playoffs so the house is supposed to be packed! We know a few of the players so I'm sure we'll get a good ribbing for it from the guys, too!

Marrisa

I am a hockey fan also.

Just wondering if you know some of the following little pieces of trivia.

What does the Logo of the Montreal Canadiens stand for?

What does the logo of the Boston Bruins stand for?

On every team there is one player with a "C" and several with a "A", what do those letters designate?

If you know the right answer to all of these you are a true hockey fanatic (fan). I will bet that your friend will be stumped by at least one and without looking them up may not know any of them.

You could make a bet on any of them and probably win.

I believe it means Club de Hockey.

What does the logo of the Boston Bruins stand for?
It's a reference to Boston being the hub of the universe.

Duh! C means Captain, and A means Alternate Captain :)

EDIT: I lived in Boston for two years so while I like my Thrashers, I do cheer on my Boston teams!

If the first graders are from Canada, you are in big trouble. Now, if they're from Atlanta, I like your chances.

Sounds like fun to me too. I wish I could be there to see this fiasco. :)

My youngest of three daughters figure skated in compitition and the same with kickboxing. I could wattch the kickboxing no problem, but the skating I closed my eyes a lot. johnnyt

Actually, Jay, I live in Columbus. Unless I'm skating against one of the players' kids, I should at least be on their level! Of course, they're closer to the ice, although not by much, but I still have farther to fall!

Btw, this is SPHL (Southern Professional League) down here but our players are from Canada!
