These videos were awesome, nice video quality and good commentary. It's a shame they've been sort of buried and locked away for a while... from 2006. I'd have liked some videos for 07, 08, and 09 also >_<

Smokey, Seyberts needs to give you a kick back on this one. You sold 100 sets for them in 24hrs. I'm sending them a email and telling them to put you on the payroll.
i was just at the AZB Marketplace and found an incredible deal for all.

here it is: http://www.azbmarketplace.com/products/All_5_14_1_DVDs-1963-227.html

i know it is 14.1 and we have a place for 14.1 threads [i am sure that all 14.1 lovers already know about this set], but at this price [less than $2.50 per dvd] i am sure so many of you would really enjoy this Dragon Promotions series.

it is many hours of of great 14.1. it may inspire some of you to try 14.1.

i hope some of you buy this at this really incredible price and enjoy watching as much as i do. it is wonderful pool!

all the best,
smokey

ps: IN THREAD TITLE: my spelling sucks cause i only look at the fn keyboard when typing: in title 'OS' should be "OF"; sri...

did your email to Rick about 'my commission/on payroll' even get answered? as i thought! but thanks for the laugh anyway!!

at this price thou, i wish all the the pool halls carried the set. when i got my old set [late 2007 when i started playing pool] i think the set cost me between $35 - $40 and i felt i got a real bargain. now, at this price $12.16 for 5 dvds, i hope a lot more of us azb'ers buy it to watch some really great pool!! and to be honest, at that time i was so unknowable about pool but as a result these dvds really made me love 14.1

anyway, i hope all who ordered them we let us all know if i am right or wrong [a guy who made a good call or a fool, either way], and their honest thoughts and review.

and as far as My Non-Existent Commission goes - when you're here, you can buy me a beer or be a cheapskate - either way, it will be **Headlined** on AZB!!!!

all the best,
smokey

Just FYI, I got these last night (2 day USPS!). I watched the first two matches on the first DVD and it was quite an eye-opener. The pros had to make a lot more difficult (at least for me, lol) shots than I thought they would need to. I was also amazed to see how they'd get stuck in the rack, miss easy shots, etc. I guess straight pool is pretty difficult for the pros too! :p I don't feel as bad about my straight pool game now!

I'm sure I'll see some better straight pool as I get further along though. It's very educational to see how they go into clusters and how they play their break shots. I'd recommend this series to everyone based just on the first two matches of the first DVD!

did anybody else who ordered get to watch these...

Thanks smokey! Just got through the first two discs and love it. I'm in the process of resurecting an old Brunswick and this is just what I needed to keep me going.

I ordered mine last night and they shipped today. Thanks for the tip Smokey

Just got mine today. I had been meaning to order them and your post got me to finally do it. Watched the first one today. What strikes me is how humbling it is to watch these players. They make it look so simple. I can pretty much see everything they will do, but damned if I can execute it like them. Thanks for the reminder. Can't wait to watch the rest.

Bob

Will cue up the 5th and final one tonight. This set is WAY woth the $20 (with S/H). I've been watching some of the runs in the 14.1 forum and struggling with the fact that I may never be good enough to make these high runs. Watching these videos made me feel a little more human. Jasmin and Allen's match for instance. Both could woop my but blindfolded with one hand tied behind their back and yet even they had some poor shots and/or bad rolls. Seeing the whole match makes a huge difference on how this game is played and the rolls that take place (both good and bad). I really enjoyed watching Thomas Engert play. He just seemed to be on. Another thing that stood out came while watching the 4th disc. I must be on the impatient side but watching Thorsten Hohmann shoot was a little trying at times. It seemed to take him FOREVER to analyze the layout of the table before every shot. Like I said this is just me as I have nothing but the deepest respect for the man. He is certainly a legend no matter how you cut it. I'll likely watch the final disc tonight or tomorrow. Thanks again for the heads up smokey and take care.

Try watching johnny Archer if you think Hohmann is slow.
This looks like a good deal, i will probably buy 1 myself.
