i needed that

Sign me up for a copy too. I saw you at the Open and thought you played well, but your opponents were great. Crappy draw.

Man, that's a STOUT run. I'll definitely buy a copy when available. Thanks for making it available to us, John.

BTW, the next best run I've ever heard of was Mika's 160 at the 2007 DCC 14.1 challenge. You've bested it by 80 balls (50% more)!!!

Shame on you for stretching your runs. What's next, you're gonna say it wasn't 402, but 399? Jeez, what a banger!

what is going on

you know honestly my bad usopen pissed me off and has spurred me into playing some 14.1.
like i said yesterday i ran 239.diamonds play tough so i feel like my desire, luck and everything else fell into place.
you know danny harriman is a great player and him having the highest run ever on film is a super feat.
its bugged me because since i have a diamond at home if i do play 14.1 which is rare i figured the best i could ever do would be around 200-250 which sure enough happened yesterday.
now mind you ive taken hundreds of tries on a diamond smart table 9ft and have only been able to run over 200 4 times.210,224,239 .well your probably saying thats only 3 times.
so today i was doing some chores around the house and patting myself on the back for running 239.even though not many will really care or realize how hard that was i know and honestly it cheered me up.
so after doing some chores i took my goldwing out and went on a 3 hour tour just like gilligan lol. now i know this sounds like b.s. but i came back and on the first try ran the most balls that ever been caught on video.
harriman did 280 on gc and thats awesome for sure.well the stars lined up and i broke that number on film on a diamond .
im not going to say how many yet as ive got to get the footage to my dvd guy but its the most ever caught on fim on a diamond to boot.

honestly i think it was as unlikely as my 400 and 403 runs on gc.
anyway i will be making dvds with a voiceover with marop.
it will be for sale as soon as i get my ducks in a row.

in closing i figure i wont make mosconi cup and thats understandable because i broke my arm and missed a few events.

at any rate im playing the best pool in my life right now and figure the dice will roll my way in the future hopefully in tourneys gambling etc.

i just thank god my arm is back to normal and look forward to the future.
take care guys

Congrats, John. I just talked to Bill and he gave me the number.

Damn!

On Film and on a Diamond, too.

Get busy you guys. We want commentary and we want video and we are ready to pay.

p.s I told him you are in a groove and better keep shooting cuz you might do a 350 or more soon.

I've played the game for most of my life and I can't begin to fathom running in the two hundreds and more, seemingly at the drop of a hat. Your skill John, is absolutely beyond my understanding. You onced mentioned to me at the DCC that it wasn't so terribly difficult once you got the hang of having and getting on a key ball properly. I've had runs over 100, but I must confess that I'm not sure that I really know what I'm doing. Most of the time, I'll hit 40's to 60's at best and simply bog down.

Do you feel that someone like myself could get much better by watching your videos? Or perhaps visiting you in FLA for you weekend pool class (assuming you still do it)? I've toyed along time about taking you up on this back when you advertised it here, but was skeptical whether it would help my game that much. I'd like to think that I can still hit new heights in this game, despite having played it for 25 years.

Congratulations on your new high "diamond" run.

Thanks,

Doug

Thanks,

if i played pool with you everyday for say a month i think you would improve alot.
a lesson could help im sure because your already a very good player.so fine tuning the things you already do right and eliminating the few things you might be doing wrong would not be that hard.

Hello John!

First of all, congratulations on your run. VERY nice!

Secondly, I am interested in this 'new' DVD as well as the old one you apparently already did. Since I left the area I grew up, I have not been exposed to any real straight pool... And I am by no means a great player of the game; however I really appreciate it, and look forward to studying your game. Straight pool is man's pool. A proper game.

Thanks in advance- PM me any time!

IMO, any run over 280 on a Diamond will stand as reference for years. I can't wait to see how many you put up. My head can't wrap around this!

How did you break your arm? I never heard anything about this. It makes sense now why you weren't such a big presence in the tournaments this year. Did you break it golfing? If so please tell us cause I golf too and don't want to make the same mistake. You were trying the Happy Gilmore swing weren't you???? Be honest now!

I am very glad to hear that you have fully recovered. I would hate to see you out of pool for good. You give me hope that I can still be pro since I am at the age you ran your first 100 (25 I believe).

Anyways keep hitting the balls and try to keep that frame of mind you have at the moment. It is obviously working for you.

I think he was riding a dirtbike

Thanks John,

Perhaps we could work something out down the road....time and money permitting.

John,

Wowowowowowow. On video no less. Thanks for being not just an inspiration to us all, but also for doing your part to keep the game alive. Who'd have thought that one of our country's greatest spokesmen for the game would be a young cat from the south? ;)

Keep it up - 300 on tape soon for sure.

- Steve

Edit: Just read the whole thread, I see that "soon" was an understatement. Hahahaha. You are a sick beast of a pool player sir.

Congratulations on your great feeling John! Your achievements are awesome. Please count me in for both DVDs, 239 and "majic unrevealed number".
And please consider making an instructional on 14.1! Your knowledge of this game is so enormous that if you share even tiny part of it that gonna be very valuable for us who can't run over 200... 100... 50... 20.
And come on run 600 at last! :grin-square:

Steve L: LOL :)

John, I must admit, I have never been a big fan of straight pool. And honestly, in the past, I had never really watched you play much. But lately I have been catching your matches, and listening to you in interviews, and have become impressed at how you conduct yourself. You are obviously a great talent, but also a good person inside, and that says even more about a person. I am looking forward to watching you kick a** and take names in future tournaments.

thanks

thanks everybody for all the kind words.
now i realize this was practice with no pressure of losing, new cloth, balls polished and dry room.
at any rate im happy with the run .i just watched it and dropped it off to be turned into a mastercopy.
im bummed it wasnt over 300 .it was 294 .
anyways again thanks for the inspiring words and interest in dvd.
ill have it out as soon as my bud bill marop and i can do a player review.
at least for now i believe i have the highest run ever on film and on a diamond .this number could stand the rest of my life.
i had more tough shots in this run than when i ran 403.
