I Want Someone To Build Me A Porn Site

Id be down for a membership, but there is something about just sitting in front of a computer and watching pool that I just can't do for a long period of time.

I would prefer dvds still and hope they will still be made as well...

Higher Education!

Do you have a Junior College with a computer technology program near you?
Talk to the professor and ask them if they can recommend a student to set up a site for you (for cash). The students often have to do a capstone project; so they might be more motivated doing a real world project.
It sounds like you know enough to be able to maintain it if they run you through it and create a little documentation.
Or maybe not ....

So you go to wal-mart or staples and buy the 100 disk spool and put the matches on them when they are downloaded. It really is the best way for everyone for the business owner and the people who want to watch the matches. its not difficult to burn DVD's with a little research and it accomplishes 2 things for the company. 1 being that JCIN had said he was the only 1 producing the DVD's at this point and time then it'll make his job a whole lot easier without having to worry about getting orders out on time and needing to make 50-100 copies of one match that everyone wants. The second thing is that it also saves them money by not having to physically store the DVD's which with all the 100's of matches they have would probably be a giant warehouse that shouldn't be needed. so then you wouldn't need to sit in front of your computer and watch the matches. Another option would be to use an HDMI cable and run it from your laptop if you have it to the tv and it will be crystal clear and you don't have to leave the couch.

The reliable webmaster thing is a big deal and I agree 100% about it being hard to find a good one without making it a full time paid gig. I am thinking what would be best is to find someone to put together the site and teach me the ins and outs of updating it and maintaining it then perhaps having some sort of deal for periodic maintenance or upgrades as needed. I have heard so many webmaster horror stories I am very wary of relying on anyone.

Problem I have ran into in the past is that everyone with iWeb or Dreamweaver sells themselves as a web developer and I can already hack together a website by myself. I dont want to pay someone to do a half ass job (I'm already good at that myself) but I would be willing to pay for a good solid basic framework that is scalable.

I guess a good analogy might be if a guy wanted to go racing. He could get his buddy to slap together something in his garage on a budget or do a lot of research and buy a reliable car ready to run. In either case you have to be able to do basic maintenance but I want to spend time driving not wrenching.

Computer Geeks and Techies are not great at explaining things. I will refer you their source information, most computer languages and technical books documenting the task you describe is the most common problem in the coding world.

There are several publications that print books that are cookbooks, basically just copy the code change the names and you have the functionality of a member list, a forum, shopping cart, video vault dbase and other solutions.

It isn't as bad as having some geek egg on you for an hour to explain how simple typing is. The book approach is not fun but it works as long as you type the code exactly the way the recipe has it, "EXACTLY!"

You need two cookbooks at the minimum one for the users/e-commerce portion and another for the multimedia serving. This is a time consuming exercise. If you have the cookbook right in front of you and you just copy it, the production time decreases to as fast as you can type. Making it look good is the next challenge.

I don't know what the book stores in Sin City are like but a quick test is to look at the table of contents for the solutions you seek in the computer programming section of a bookstore, not a college bookstore, a regular bookstore, something near a business/office area.

I'm not sure if I've ever been warned, but I've seen plenty of people get warnings. I do not work for AZ.

I absolutely have no idea what you are talking about and guessing/hoping you are under the influence of something fun.

The pressure I feel when typing, thinking if the AZ mod is deciding my post is ban-worthy is very high. I get nervous if I trigger the filter warning.

In addition to your website, ever consider iTunes as an outlet? There are over 250 million subscribers, and almost no pool videos. Videos are protected using Apple's digital rights management, so you can have both a rental and purchase option. I believe revenue are 30/70 split.

This is a good idea. Most people I know now are watching netflix streaming. And they seem to need more content. Maybe a licensing deal with them would be feasible.

Cool thing about these options is people can watch on their computer or tv.

Membership Area

Hello!
I do this kind of stuff as my full time self employed job.
You can see my main bread and butter site/company here
infusionpros.com
crushingitonline.com is also one of my personal sites that has a member area hooked up that delivers my digital(video) products via live stream from AmazonS3 and Cloud hosting.

Anyway, if you want to connect on the phone I can get some more info to fully scope out and quote you for my time.

Couple questions before we talk so I have a better idea of what you have going on..

1. Do you have a shopping cart and merchant account that can handle recurring billing?

2. If yes, what cart is it and what merchant is it?

3. What is your budget? and yes, I will work with you and since you are techie you can take on what ever you think you can handle to save cost of my time.

The biggest things that you will need to make sure(or I will research for you) are the following:

-Get a self hosted membership site that can integrate with AmazonS3 for fast video upload/streaming that is SECURE and can only be accessed in the members area.

-Make sure you shopping cart can process recurring orders AND the BIGGIE, make sure the memebership area 'knows' when a card has failed or expired and can remove access to the content. As well as give access to the content when a successful order is processed.

If you are only wanting ONE level of continuity then this is a fairly straight forward project as long as the other pieces mentioned above line up for delivery.

IF you want to integrate it into your existing site then most likely you will need to 'remake' your existing site into the format of the membership site so that it all meshes.

I can do MUCH more then just this and specialize in email marketing and small business growth online.

THANKS

try National A1-Internet
this is them http://home.vod.com/
they run www.hotmovies.com

or try AEBN.com. They provide white label I believe.

another one is gamelink.com

Those three are the big three and if you stray off to other entities u take a solid risk at not getting paid. Id go with National A1 first. AEBN is bigger but National A1 is more aggressive about getting new accounts.

If you decide u want to put up the dough and try to do it yourself you have your hands full. Here is an example of a decent company that does programming. Expect to pay 5-25k min for turnkey solutions that you own.

www.objectcube.com

reading your post you seem to be aware that CMS is needed. Billing is a major issue. Security on your streams is another issue. Traffic management to the site is an even bigger challenge. Every one of those issues you could easily write a small book about. Good luck, your very late into the game with PPM/VOD. Pay attention to the mobile market, hand held devices are the growth engine for PPM/PPV/VOD. On the plus side, the market being very mature means virtually of the wheels needed to roll have already been created.

Also, just so you know my cost for this would be under 3K to fully setup and we can work together to lower that.

As for my being in control of your stuff. I dont work like that. I make all my clients go in and buy or setup their OWN accounts whether it be hosting, domains, autoresponder services, merchant accounts, ecommerce, etc.. I dont have the time or what to be the SOLE person that a business relies on to make a simple spelling change. If they want something changed that I cant show them or they dont want to learn then I will simply quote them out for my time and do it.

My clients can block me out at any time as they have full control of usernames/pass etc..

Lets have a chat on the phone and we can see if I would be a good fit for you.

Best,
Steve

Thank you sir. This is the kind of info I was looking for exactly. I will look around at the links you provided and see what could work for what I need.

I have no problem with downloading the matches and making my own dvds out of them. But from how it sounds it doesn't seem like the vids are going to be available to download them directly and take with you. It sounds like its going to be similar to youtube where you have to watch them on the site.

One day the thing you enjoy to watch on the site is going to be gone... if they allowed the matches to be downloaded in some type of video format in a file so you can keep them and watch where and when you want without an internet connection would defeat the purpose of having a monthly fee. Jusy pay for one month and download everything and cancel the subsciption.
