The power of capitalism compels you. The power of consumerism compels youAfter just watching Filler beat Lunda in 1-pocket in under 12 minutes, I too want the special Filler 12.4 Revo.
Fixed it for you:I'm amazed how people think the top players are gods and can play with anything. Where do they get this idea? There is so much evidence to the contrary. Like the video in the first post...interviewing the best player in the world lol
I blame my bad performances on anything but myself too...I'm amazed how people think the top players are gods and can play with anything. Where do they get this idea? There is so much evidence to the contrary.
100%Fixed it for you:
I'm amazed how people think the top cue brands offer magic cues and magic shafts that will improve their game like nothing else. Where do they get this idea? There is so much evidence to the contrary.

I don't think he's denying that... and neither am I.People can be slightly better or slightly worse with a variety of cues. Yes SVB is good enough to beat most people with any cue. Does that mean he will win a world title if you hand him a new cue at the start of the tournament?
The fact that Tiger Woods can beat me with wooden clubs doesn't make mean he'll win the Masters with them. Or that wood is the same as metal
This guy shafts. The power of capitalism compels you. The power of consumerism compels you![]()
That was all Filler... not some magic shaft.
I was once told I had a magic shaft, but nothing to do with pool. More to do with my ex-wife wanting a new pair of shoes.
If it improves my game 1%, it's worth it to me. Trying to discuss equipment differences by trying to bring up money is not how you debate, its a diversion. Who cares if someone wants to buy xyzI don't think he's denying that... and neither am I.
In the context of the world, and the systems that are laid out for us. We are encouraged to spend on tat. Spend on anything, and in anyway we choose (whether that is really 'freedom', when we are stupid enough creatures to be coerced in many ways is up for debate...)
But realistically, is a shaft going to raise your game to a level that justifies the $$$ spent? Only you can decide that. Does it even need to raise your game? Maybe you just like it? Who should actually care?
I think it is important to care... as it dictates the direction of the game we know and love...
And realistically, for the points raised previously. It seems kind of a waste of money.
Diversion from what? Is money not wholly relevant to this conversation? Why they keep coming up with new 'tech' that doesn't really bring all that much to the table? It's in part how they convince you that you might need it... along with the endorsement of the players contractually obliged to say nice things about the equipment... That money you spend is the money that influences the future direction of the companies, and the material they present about the sport you love... It influences the equipment and stance of the pros on their roster. So I would argue that money is wholly relevant... not that I am really arguing, not something I'd waste too much breath on, just some tippy tapping while I am bored at workIf it improves my game 1%, it's worth it to me. Trying to discuss equipment differences by trying to bring up money is not how you debate, its a diversion. Who cares if someone wants to buy xyz
Golf is the perfect example of a sport where good equipment definitely makes the game easier for beginners and pros. Pool is similar with deflection but people don't realize the how large the difference between high and low deflection cues. Also thinner diameters are harder to use, which is why I want a 12.4 which deflects like my 11.8.
Filler would be right back up to full speed in about 20 min, don't you worry about that! There's a reason why elite pool players and golfers rarely change equipment, so they don't have to think about it and play by instinct. SVB played with the same maple shaft for (I think) around the first half of his career until it just broke one day.
Anyone that thinks Filler can play with a high deflection shaft no problem clearly has no idea the large difference between, say a Cuetec carbon fiber or maple shaft, which are high deflection and something very low deflection like Z shaft or 11.8 Revo.
Was the video you posted targeted at the statement above? This threadEveryone needs to review logical fallacies and results oriented thinking. Throw in basic journalism
You're wasting your time with this dude. Pool players are influencers they play with whatever brand offers them the most money. Was the video you posted targeted at the statement above?Yes, you could log into J-stor or some other academic library, have an 80's style montage of research clips and brow sweat, then really have some reference to stick a nail in this... You could also have some real life, physical data, to emphasize the point beyond your subjective desire to own a new shaft (for reasons relating to only you). I'm talking graphs, charts and detailed analysis. Let's put on some white coats and get @justnum involved?

Just the way you asked tells me no answer will make sense to you. It’s incredibly easy to add deflection.Yes they said "pro" custom features are not available to public
How did they add deflection? are you serious? lol
Right I know I come across pretty stupid. I don't even know what deflection really is. A debate device?Just the way you asked tells me no answer will make sense to you. It’s incredibly easy to add deflection.

It's the same as fitness influencers saying they got ripped because they used this creatine and that whey powder..
Sure, not every shaft on the market plays great. But for a dude like Filler it makes no difference if he plays with a Revo, a Cynergy, Mezz or whatever. Modern brands are all very similar. Even the modern wood shafts by custom cue makers aren't like the old ones, they are also low deflection. The KO brothers for example, play with Zen wood shafts.
