JAM JAM JAM JAM JAM JAM JAM JAM JAM JAM JAM

I think your list is the one that we will see wheb all the shouting is done.

Schmitty doesn't realize it but he has done for MatchRoom Sports Mosconi Cup what Emeril does for the Food Channel.

BAM! Send it up another notch!

John and Earl can and will play well with one another because of their competitive spirits, talent and everything else that they bring to the table.
Besides, they like to make big $$$$$ money. :D

John Schmidt would complement the rest of the veteran Team USA players with his drive to win. He never gives up and is like a pitbull.

Plus, he always exudes class when he walks into the joint, dressed to the nines. When you look good, you play good. ;)

And the rest of the team will follow suit [pun intended]!

Don't get me wrong. I love Dennis Hatch's game, but his game is dependent on a big factor.

I think John would be good for the team. As far as I know, he's a great player and a pleasure to play with.
Of course there are "pool politics", and Earl is good for the team for the viewers. I love an Earl meltdown....who doesn't??
Forgive me, I haven't been paying attention to the candidates for team USA, but I was wondering if Jeremy Jones was a consideration?
Anyways, hope it's a good squad this year.
I don't. There is nothing entertaining about it for me.

IMO, I think if it weren't for Earl and the ratings he draws the Mosconi Cup would no longer exist. If I was a player, like him not, I'd still want him around for the payday.

He's the only reason I watch.

I read John Mcenroe's book and he said they could have easily stopped his antics with point and game penalties and suspensions but he was making the sport so much money they let him carry on for years. It didn't hurt the sport any. I hope Earl is voted in for the good of the sport.

Just a reminder of how the teams will be picked

How the Mosconi Cup sides will be picked
06 Aug 2009

MATCHROOM SPORT can announce the composition of both sides to take part in the 2009 PartyCasino.net Mosconi Cup which takes place from 10-13 December at the MGM Grand, Las Vegas.

Each team is composed of five players and Team Europe shall be made up of the following:
1. The No.1 ranked player on the Euro Tour at conclusion of Dutch Open on 19 September.
2. Any player ranked in the ET Top 16 at conclusion of Dutch Open on 19 September.
3. Any player ranked in the ET Top 16 at conclusion of Dutch Open on 19 September.
4. Any player
5. Any player

The first three players will be announced after the Dutch Open and the other two at the conclusion of the US Open on the 25th October. Players 2-5 will be selected by Matchroom Sport.

Team USA will be made up of the following five players:
1. The No.1 ranked player on the BCA Points List at the conclusion of the US Open on 25th October.
2. The No.2 ranked player on the BCA Points List at the conclusion of the US Open on 25th October.
3. Any player
4. Any player
5. The winner of a 'Mosconi Cup Idol' public vote.

Players 1 & 2 will be announced at the close of the US Open, while players 3 & 4 will be announced in September. Players 3 & 4 will be selected by Matchroom Sport.

Since Team USA's comprehensive defeats in '07 and '08, there has plenty of spirited debate as to who should play in order to help turn the tide for Team USA.

On that basis, Matchroom Sport will be using a public vote to select the final member of the American team. Taking place on www.matchroompool.com , a short list will be compiled and will then be thrown open to a public vote!

Further details of this will follow.

Thanks for that info, Roy!

May 5 of our very best be on the team!! :clapping:

We need to WIN this year! :thumbup2:

McEnroe and Earl are two completely different beasts.... McEnroe *****ed about line calls, etc...., mainly with refs, when he was at the top of his game. Earl is well past his and the way he has acted the past 7-8 years since his decline is a disgrace and embarrassing. He is a complete jack*ff. I wouldn't watch the Mosconi Cup with him on the team if you paid me...... With all of the class acts in pool there is no need for him.

Did you think that there might be a need for him from a financial perspective?

Maybe he's a big draw for Matchroom in Europe but he certainly isn't here, at least not in my world. I have seen him go off on opponents (several times), fans (several times), and 4 years ago I seen him go off on a 10 or so year old kid at the Glass City Open in Toledo (for asking for an autograph). Classy guy.....

fair enough i feel better lol.you are top 15 for sure if not better .

So if you're Top 5 and Chris is "top 15 for sure if not better", doesn't that mean he needs more than the last two? I know, I know, he won with the last two already but he still needs at least the last two, right?

I think John was saying that chris was rt up there on his level...You'd have to be feeling really spunky to give weight to a guy that you thought was on ur same level..IMO n e way.

Earl isn't a big draw here? Well I suppose even if he draws the biggest audience in men's pool here you could say that it still isn't a "big" draw.
