Did a buy it now on a supposed to be Mottey for 1000. I requested pictures of the signature before I would pay. He says look at the pictures. Then says there are no returns. It was not the Mottey he has listed right now but another cue. it didnt look like one to me. Anyway, he wont send me any more pictures of the cue which makes me rather squeamish to proceed. I bid on the other to get a feel for his reserve, which my high bid is 1600 and still not met. All I know is I am not doing anything with this guy and I would recommend doing the same. I think it is kind of odd that a guy that has no experience in selling cues comes up with Mottey's, Scruggs, Meucci and Searing cues to sell. But do what you wish, just expressing my opinion.

I think I remember seeing that McDaniel here somewhere for sale within the past few months... maybe someone else can help with some information about the seller.

Yeah, I said the same with his Searing, i can't afford to find out if he's an idiot or a scammer. If you're looking for a Mottey both BrooklynJay and ScottR have ones for sale, as do several other respected guys on here.

LOL the Meucci he has listed, includes NO info, other than his description of

"MEUCCI ORIGINAL CUE STICK w/FIVE SHAFTS !

SIGNED !!

EXCELLENT CONDITION !

COMES WITH CASE !"

no model #, no close-ups, nothing. One bod of $600, and the reserve isn't met.

if it looks like a duck...and walks like a duck...and quacks like a duck...there's a really good chance IT IS A DUCK.

In other words: SCAM SCAM SCAM SCAM.

He's not too far from me (I'm in Clearwater, he's in Ft. Lauderdale, FL); I might contact him and tell him I'm interested in all his cues, and ask to come see them in person and I'm willing to pay cash, so what is his "reserve". We'll see how he responds.

he has sold a lot on ebay... looks like he took all the photos... its hard to say if he is trying to make a quick buck.

Yea I did a hard look at him and I didn't see anything wrong other than His prices look to be on the short side !
1 bad feed in the last 170 is pretty darn good !!
If I was to make a guess and it's truley a guess !!
Looks like he's trying to get Christmas money togeather ....
Just don't know ......... And can't afford to find out !!

Hi Guys,

The story is that it's an estate sales....he initially didn't have any idea on how much the cues were worth and had wrong pics on all his auctions. Many believe his auctions are legit and he just posted the pics wrong.

He did say he honor those that paid.....well...don't know if that is true. In any case, if you had paid...don't know if you still can...he would probably send you the cue in the pic.

His new auctions now have reserve on them...so I'm sure someone advise him of the value and he putting them as is. I was finally able to get a number from the seller since i ask if my friend in his area could check out the cues first. So, If anyone ask..he would provide the number so that you can check out the cue first before you bid.

I would advise paying via credit card or paypal..just in case these auction are not legit....they look to be good now with the proper pics and seller responded to all my PM. If I win this auction, I would like to speak to the seller directly to know how it can be shipped...etc. Good Luck guys...I may put a bid on the mottey.

Regards,
Duc.

He is legitimate. He is selling the cues for someone else. He doesn't know anything about what is what. His word appears to be very good.

I never saw a fancy Mc Daniel Butt and normal Joint_Rings.
The Butt have the lazy S Rings and the Joint only Black Rings and the Joint Cap have the lazy S Rings.Just curios.

No disrespect to the seller but until now he only sold cologne, soap and perfume. And now all of a sudden he sells cues for a friend ?

Legit auction

I know the people that own these cues being sold on ebay. The auctions are legit. Please give them a break, they have zero knowledge about cues, and not much more about ebay. Mistakes were made but not intentionally.
The cues were listed without talking to me first. These cues were owned by a very good friend of mine who passed away a year ago. There being sold because they need the money. They have a disabled child, so these auctions will help them in a big way.

Thank you,
Dennis

If you are serious about the purchase but not to sure about the seller, just use a third party to verify the cue and to arrange payment.

Dennis,
Thank you for addressing this. I too was skeptical when they were listed as buy it nows. Here is a link to my post on this forum. Had lots of response to the post. From what I understand, the only person who came through with payment to the seller was the person who bought the cue you made. The others didn't pay, and they were all relisted (except yours). You can see in my thread, and I apologized to mitchel10, I scolded them for not selling to the BIN buyers, but apparently they followed through to those who had paid. To the poster of this thread, I would send the money. The person who paid for the Searing has the cue in hand from what was noted in the post.

Thanks Dennis....this thread deserve some bumps to the top so that their cues will get top dollars.... hopefully the family will get the money they need. I'm sure if anyone who bought the Searing knows about the family situation...they would probably give the cue the full value it deserve. Am like many were very skeptical of these auctions but it seem clear cut now. My bid is placed on the Mottey to meet their reserve, I'm sure we'll have higher bid now.

Good Luck guys...the mottey is a sweet cue and should be worth about $2500 at least I think. Personally, I think they may have overpriced the adam cue...but the rest looks fair game now.

Happy Holidays.

Duc.

Legit!!!

I live in Miami and contacted the seller to inspect the cues in person. He gave me his number to call him and said it would not be a problem.

He seems legit.

Bump for some awesome cues...and pretty nice prices...probably your only chance to pick up a high end custom scruggs and mottey for cheap!!! I think the reserve on the scruggs is the same as the mottey...so you'll be stealing the scruggs/Mottey...if no one else bid. It's a win win situation...you get a great cues for a great price and the money will be going to a family that needs the fund.
