If You Could Ask One AZer One Question . . .

I actually sent it a long time ago at the address you provided. Not sure why you did not get it. :(

has it occurred to you that this may just be a ploy to get you to send another dollar? :grin-square:

Mods, please repost this conversation over in one of the hustling threads. :p

Naw, she and I made one-dollar bet on a photo, whether it was Amar Kang or Tony Chohan. It was Amar Kang. I said it was Tony Chohan. I sent her the signed dollar to the address she gave, which I can't remember what it was now. I have deleted her PM that she sent me with the address. It was so long ago.

I may be a lot of things, but I ain't a welch. :D

The only thing I can offer is to deliver it to her in person at an upcoming tournament we are both present at, or in the alternative, she is welcome to come to the East Coast to collect. I will be happy to issue her a new one-dollar bill with my signature on it. But I refuse to spend $50-plus to send it signature required, Federal Express, from East Coast to West Coast. Ain't happening for one dollar, especially when I know I sent it to the address she provided. ;)

In the past, for product, contests, and signed photographs, I have paid overnight delivery via Federal Express to members on this forum stating they never received what I had sent -- and it's happend two other times -- sometimes incurring the additional cost from Federal Express for signature required and overnight delivery, which ended up costing more than what the actual content was worth that I was sending. Very frustrating! Been there and done that. Ain't doing it for a dollar.

In one such instance for a $50 contest I held on this forum, the winner told me he never received a $50 check that I mailed. It was leaving D.C. and going to upstate New York. I asked him to please wait an additional week to see if it showed up. He did, and the check did not show up. I immediate send a new check via Federal Express, overnight delivery, signature required. Ironically, the day he received the new check, he informed me that the old check that I had originally sent to him had arrived, 3 weeks after I sent it. In this case, it costs me an additional $38 to send a $50 check a second time, not to mention my time involved in mailing it via Federal Express, driving to the FedEx outlet. :frown:

Wonder how many dissention posts this will generate. I can hardly wait! :D;):p:smile:

(this is not a dissention post. I'm trying to HELP you)

If I was sending a signed dollar, I think I'd go with certified mail, return receipt requested.

7 bucks

Never had one take more than 4 days to get a 1st attempt anywhere in the lower 48.

Have had people duck them for weeks, though.

Imagine that, grown men hiding from the postman. . .

Thanks for the suggestion, but I won't incur the additional expense I have already incurred to send a second one-dollar bill. She can collect from me in person. It is the only way I can ensure she will receive it at this stage.

I did, indeed, send it to the address she provided, which I think was a pool room, if my memory is right. It was a long time ago. My old memory ain't what it used to be, I'm afraid. Wish I still had the PM she sent, but you know your PM box gets full and you end up deleting old PMs.

What's annoying is that I also sent an 8-1/2-by-11 autographed photograph of Keith along with the signed dollar bill, wanting to give her a little -- I would say "bonus," but I don't like using that word in recent times -- a little something extra. I guess that's lost too. :(

Great thread Brian!

Who?: John Barton

What?: Whether my assumptions are true that he sits behind his laptop sipping ice cold tsingtao, laughing his butt off over how wound up he can get folks.

Your assumption would be wrong. However to steal from Mark Twain I will say that pool forums have enhanced my naturally sweet disposition.

How much code do you need in a big party to ask if a guy smokes weed?

And the code is 420.

Freddie <~~~ could use a coed...

Haha

I could use a coed, too.

A code to get me a a coed would be even better. :ok:

Mickey <--- Still waiting for Kicken' Chicken to share his AZ'er and question...

I've been thinking about this question, Brian, for lo these last couple of days, and I have reached a contusion.
I would ask Miss Trigger, if she would be my date for the prom. :)

?????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????
????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

I've got a lotta questions......

Why is there a 'W' in answer?

Wait no more, Mickey.

Who: Keith McCready

My Question: When *will* we see you compete again?

Shockingly, frustratingly, and I'm sure some other words ending in "ly" (if the first two are even words), I have never had the pleasure of seeing you play live but want to real bad.

Is it possible to compare Keith to Greta Garbo? I mean, sure they're both super sexy and all, but it goes way beyond that for me.

But that's a whole n'other thread. :D

So for now:

Mr. McCready; when will your legion of fans, including this chicken, get to see you play?

best,
brian kc <--- seriously considering going to Turningstone for the very first time this year. hint, hint.

Believe me, I would like to come out of retirement for a little bit just to see if I still have it. I'm hoping to come out and play in a couple events, sooner than later.

We've had a couple bumps in the road. One of them is our new dog. Our dog gets car sick when he drives in the car, and we will not put him in a kennel. We've already experienced that. So when he gets to where he can drive, without getting sick, that's when it will be sooner.

Plus, the old lady is always stacked up with work, so it's hard for her to get away. She doesn't like me going by myself, understandably, but she's going to have to, sooner than later.

My target tournaments would be Greg Sullivan's events. I think they have the best chance of making some money, even if I don't do well in the tournaments. So those tournaments would be the ones that I focus in on. I like Mike Zuglan's Joss tournament at Turning Stone. I like Barry's U.S. Open 9-Ball, but as you know, all these players nowadays are very hard to beat, and you have to be in combat to be able to beat these guys. I'm not going to go anywhere just to make an appearance. I have to feel like I have a chance. I also want to hit California and Vegas to see what's happening. I've always liked those events. Mark Griffin has some good tournaments that I'd like to get in.

Plus, you have a good bank roll to go any event, especially if you want to stay a week or 10 days. I've never had a problem getting money to play with.

I think I'm going to test the waters in some local happenings before I get out there with all the sharks that are in the water, and there's quite a few. I hear Baltimore is starting to kick up again, so I might have to make a few appearances over there. It's pretty close to where I live.

I know I didn't play for a while before I went to Valley Forge last time, and I did quite well, played pretty good, came second to Shannon, busted two ring games, and came home with some cabbage. So it is possible. We'll just have to see.

Question for JAM...

Are you posting on behalf of Keith? I don't doubt he is saying the words, just wondering if you do the typing since you do it so well?

Not calling Keith computer illiterate either. I just picture the household something like this..

You on the computer..."Honey, someone's asking you a question on AZ". Do you care to answer?

Keith on the sofa with a beer..."What's it about"?

JAM..."Wants to know when you'll come out and play"?

Keith..."When we can travel without the dog getting sick and when my old lady will let me".

JAM...Ok honey, I'll paraphrase a little bit. :grin-square:

This has been brought up numerous times on the forum previously.

What I do for a living is convert the spoken word into print: VERBATIM. I'm certified do to so, been doing it for 35 years now. I've gotten pretty good at it as well. Believe it or not, I get paid to do it in some circles.

I typed the words out of Keith's mouth exactly as they came out of his mouth into the message window.

ETA: And another thing, he hasn't had a beer in his hand for quite some time, contrary to popular belief. ;)

I will add that the ridicule Keith has gotten posting on this forum makes it so he really doesn't enjoy it much. There are others who feel the same way you do, so you're in good company.

Keith knows how to use a computer, FWIW, but his expertise lies in poker sites, not forum software.

Don't get me wrong, I was just having a little fun on a slow Saturday morning.

I'm not a Keith basher, nor a JAM basher. I pretty much knew what your answer was going to be, just put a little humor in the exchange.:D

I would ask Bill, Why did he ever start that stupid Design your Dream Cue thread if he was not going to build the cue?
