If all you cuemakers out there had to have a maker other than yourself build you a cue, Who would it be? and why?

Would like only cuemakers to answer please.
 
Kersenbrock b/c he is the master and i know the wood would be the best.i would be looking for playability if i was having a cue made.
 
I have 2 cues from local cuemakers. Because I know who made them. To me that means something.
Lets face it, I doubt any cuemaker knowingly will make a bad cue. They all have their own style and hit.
Both are a differnt hit and balance , but for various reasons I like them.
They are from Jack Coates in Harmony Pa ,
and from Jim Mc Gowan, Ellwood city, Pa.

Ron Haliey, is the man I would pick if I were buying a cue for appreciation. Ron's phylposoy is simple make a cue that the customer will never loss a penny on if they choose to sell it later. He is also one of the top craftsmen in the industry, and while some may not care he doesn't use CnC techniques to cut holes for inlays or for anything else. His finish work is also equal to building skills which are unique, Traditional, and excellent in proportion and in execution. Ron's status as a cue maker is fast becoming well known, and I personally think that in future years he could be veiwed as the next cue maker with Balabushka and Szamboti status.

It would be for playability & comfort, so i'd go with the guys who have similar specs & taper shapes as myself. BB is very similar in shaft and butt, and BG is close in shaft shaft shape. I'd have to have old school melamine ferrules, flat faced phenolic big pin joint, and a just under 19oz cue with 18.5" balance. I'd have to really search for the builder I think. That's kinda why I began building my own.
 
I had a cue built for me, by JOEL HERCEK. It was the best playing cue, that I have ever had. I would be honored, to have another cue of his...JER
 
No Tad Kohara or Judd Fuller??? really? I mean, I understand the rest, but is this a sick mistake? or am I just retarded.
 
Thanks, it's mostly the names that I expected with a few suprises.

It's nice to see that consumers are not the only ones who appreciate the talents of these builders.

I'm suprised that nobody said Gina (ernie).

I don't think anyone builds a better cue (imo), some cuemakers make pretty cue's (lot's of inlays ext....playability is 2nd) some cuemakers build playing cues (playability is #1 all else comes 2nd) there are alot of cuemakers that combine the 2 very well but, I believe Mikes cues have an unparelled combination of the 2.

Murray Tucker - Because he is my friend, a very nice person and builds a great cue.

I know that guys such as Murray make a really great cue . It's too bad that other commitments in their lives don't allow them to pursue their passion as much as they would like. Hopefully one of these days I'll be able to get a Murray cue. I bug him about once a year.

Ariel or Judd, provided I could give them the dimensions and specs. Both are willing to listen to your requests and make cue accordingly. For value, I think Ariel is second to none. Paul Drexler, if he would let me be a fly in the wall and I didn't have to endure the snow! It would be very hard to pick one, Ned Morris comes to mind also. How do you choose between great cues? I think there are so many great cue makers in my area that I would choose someone here locally. Almost forgot Zeiler, Bob Denali, and John Gardener. Sorry about the lack of commitment! I don't think I would go wrong with any of the above. Kent:thumbup: :thumbup:
 
Bob Runde and Paul Fanelli...

Would love to have another cue from Bob, don't understand why he isn't at the top of everyone's list of most sought after cuemakers. Paul's cues are equally impressive and just about as underappreciated as Bob's.
 
Mike Bender, Tad, McWorter. From an artistic point of view I admire the balance that both Tad and McWorter obtain in their designs.
