If you had tons of dough to buy 1 cue.

Which cue would would you buy and why? Remember you have the cash to buy any cue your heart desires and if you spend less thinking you will pocket the cash that doesn't apply.

Sp which custom maker or production would you buy?
Me i stink anything over 2k and its a waste of money but if i could buy any it would probably be a balabuska, Searing or a Szamboti..

Well, if we're in fantasy land I would go back in time and custom order a box cue from Gus Szamboti.

I would travel to every exhibition, tournament or cue maker until I found the cue that felt right then buy it. I wouldn't care if it cost $100 or $5,000 if I felt it was the right cue.
Me too. I'd be at the next SBE when the doors opened on Thursday. I'm not into overly ornate cues, so I'd probably use that blank check for a vintage cue. A Balabushka, Rambow, or Gus would be great, but there's no way I'd take it to the pool room as my daily player. When I get a home table, I'd occasionally take the cue out and play a few games with it.

This is a fun thread, just to give you guys an idea how smart I am.The Balabushka of Willie Mosconi that someone wanted was offered to me by Willie at a cue shoe in Ft Worth for $2700 and I didn't buy it
Someone wanted a 59' Gus,I sold the one Jersey Red played for $600.

Feel free to call me if you need any advice.

Hey I would just like the few cues I am waiting for.

Collecting is tough these days...

I would buy Fat Boy's Black Boar it is the best hitting cue I have ever played with and I have owned cues from just about every cue maker on the planet including but not limited to Searing, Showman, Mobley, SW, TAD, Prewitt, Tascarella, Gina, Cognoscenti and many, many, many others.

-don

everybody says that about my cue, and there has been about 25 of the top 30 players hit balls with it, they all say that-not to make me happy, their eyes light up, i have no excuse to not be a better player-that cue has magic in it. i have 6 shafts for it 2 are broken in good the others i'm working on. it is beyond amazing. took me over 20 years to find a cue that feels like it, looks and price have no influence on my opinion of the cue.

My Stolen Palmer Model "M" ...

Mizerak's Balabushka or maybe a Palmer made for a champion like Balsis or Crane.

I would just like to have my Palmer Model "M"
that was stolen in a home burglary in 1981.
My name, on Gold Foil, was in the window.
(2) 12.5mm Shafts, and a Brunswick Tube Case.

I have no doubts that it would be a Searing for me.

If I won the lottery my list of must haves would be
Searing
Gus
Barry
Balabushka
Scruggs
Gina
Cochran
Tad
Tascarella

And every one would be a very specific type of cue that I obviously wouldn't have a problem paying a premium for. I would probably first call the guy I sold my Scruggs to and offer him double for it as I was heartbroken selling it.

The cue i am going to enter in Bill Stroud's contest.

I want a player, not a cue to put in a case and brag about. Just me i guess :)

My dreams have come true. I have acquired a Searing a Gus a Barry and a Gina.
I am one happy man. There are still a couple of cues that i would love to own but........

My favorite post...and a nice example of thread book-ending :)

I would probably grab some absurdly detailed French Marquetry cue from the mid 19th century or earlier. I have seen alot of rare cues like Szamboti's and Balabushkas for sale on occasion. I have never seen one of the extremely old hand made cues 150+ years old, they are ludicrously rare and some are just nuts with detail and craftmanship in a time long before electricity, nevermind cnc machines and the like.
