Welcome back, SJD. And, I would like your insight into what aiming system is best and what kind of chalk you use?
Who do you, . If anyone., match up with in pheonix? I've never been there, so you'd need to get me directions. Alexanders on 36th Ave, or some newer rooms, golden cue is closed

It's a shame !.. It seems as though the longer a thread goes on, the more the illiterate in our group, feel the need to chime in..Very rarely do they make any sense, to anyone but themselves !...Fortunately, most intelligent posters will see they have serious issues with reality !

Welcome back SJD.
I do not know you personally, but have known of you for a long time. Your accomplishments in pool have introduced you to many people in places that you are yet to visit. When first published, I bought both Eddie Robbin's books, WOP or SMS, one of which gave more elite player discussion. It gave you an excellent write up. After that and reading SJD posts on the forums,(plural), I always paid attention to what you had to say. You have been there and done that with the very best AND pursued a career outside pool.
I try to specifically read you posts for your wit and insight which I appreciate. Having read most of your posts here, I have no idea what caused your ban as I did not notice anything out of the norm. Your contribution at 1P.org was priceless...I will leave it at that.

Mike, Jerry or Dave...Thank you, for the very brief respite, however, I feel it may be only a result, of a guilty conscience(s), as I may hold the record for, if not the most often banned, possibly the most 'unfairly' banned poster, in AZB's colorful history of "abusive poster's" I believe that was the phrase coined for my last time-out !
...That is an absolute joke !..There are several dozen 'regular' responder's MUCH more abusive, and abrasive, still flailing away daily, 'unscathed' ! (I could pull up dozens, in just the past week) At least I try to inject some 'tongue in cheek' humor in my offerings.
I have no idea where Lou Figuruoa rates, on your often very narrow spectrum..of good/bad/bannable poster's...But I do know he is capable of putting some very well thought out, (and highly relevant) opinions on the table, as he has done on here for many years...I have taken the liberty of emboldening some of his more salient points of view, in one of his most recent posts ! (adding a few of my own, in red)
If you choose not to even read, (and/or absorb) his VERY astute observations, then I feel you are hiding your head(s) in the sands...It is obvious I am NOT alone in those thoughts !... If this makes me 'persona non grata' AGAIN..so be it.. I have already too often, been made to feel like I live in "North Korea", when it comes to freedom of expression, without dire repercussions !

I doubt many even visit much of the rest of the site.<--I agree Lou, Its hard to get excited over the latest "layered cuetip" or the newest "chalk"..not to mention the daily "What kind of wrap do you like" posts ! :boring2: :boring2: :boring2:
So as important as what you and the rest of "the team" may be, don't forget that the participants here are an integral part of all that, and they deserve to be treated with a modicum of respect from the management and not the disdain I occasionally see reflected in what is said and done here. <--"Disdain" is a very polite description Lou,...How about "ridicule" ?

Also, while I'm on a roll.. let me clear the air in response to another subject.. my 'drinking problem", as is often brought up by Hawiian Eye, Mr. Wilson, and a few others, to try and paint me as an 'alcoholic' !...If you would care to check with any of my close 'local' friends, (Lenny, Frost, etc.) you would find that I gave up drinking more than a few sociable drinks, (on rare occasions) about 30 years ago.!...
I admit, I used to cultivate that personna, and have for years...I liked to call it, my "Dean Martin" act, who (truth be known) also RARELY ever drank, and only used it, as I did, to promote a fun-loving, 'out of control' image...It was kind of a way to make better games ! (who doesn't like to play 'drunks' ?)...Since I don't play anymore, I no longer need it...But, keep impressing me with how well you know my personal life habits !
I would greatly appreciate, the courtesy of an acknowledgement regarding my insight, (even a negative one)..from at least one of you !

In response to the OP. There are certain places in life we land, and where we are banned, and I hate marching bands in December in the humidity of the Midwest. At times I know I'm babysitting and take joy in going away for awhile, but I always remember this....being here is like being in a pool room, and most always I don't want to hang with over ninety percent of those in there. Conflict then becomes a natural. It's like being in a pool room but you have to listen to ''all their thoughts'', but you definitely Don't want to be with em, around em or physically near Any Part of em. :thumbup:

An addendum to SJD's "roll":
IMO, SJD has become some kind of whipping boy for the management here and his last ban was uncalled for. I also agree that he should have had the "Pro Player" descriptor added above his name long ago. He is a known, legendary, HOF player. If there's any justice here, it will be added in short order and an apology for the oversight extended.
(Wait, wait, give me a moment... whew, OK, I'm back. I laughed so hard about an apology being extended I started coughing. I'm OK now.)
Anyways, SJD is certainly one of the "characters" I was referring to in my original post. The "characters" here are the spice in the AZ stew pot. Without the SJDs, JAMs, PJs, and dare I say it, JBs, this place gets pretty bland. And I would like to point out that you don't need to ban someone to alter their contributions to the forum. After enough abuse and failure to protect, key posters feel marginalized and will change the quality and quantity of their contribution to AZ all on their own. They will post less. They will start few threads. They will provide less original content. They will ignore those discussions and questions to which they hold the answers, all to the detriment of the site. It is an overlooked reason why people have noted the long, slow slide of the quality of discussion here. Is it more peaceful? Yes. Is it also more boring? Oh yeah.
