A family problem

I don't know why I opened this post. Probably because I had cancer last year and I thought I could give some support.

Ironically, this is a problem that hit my extended family for many years. No one really knew what it was for a long time, but I guess they finally gave it a name. The thing that you may want to know for whatever reason is that it only hit half of my relatives. Half of my mother's sisters had it and the other half did not. My mother and two of her three brothers didn't get it and their children didn't either. One uncle had it and only one of his six children got it.

I'm sorry that you have this problem and I wish you as much luck as possible.

Jim

Peace to all in the coming new year, and just to cover my Karmic ass, that goes to JB, and PJ, as well.
Thanks for keeping that thing covered.

They say humor is the best medicine, so I hope you keep posting some, for your and our health.

Pulling for you,

I'll wager many of you will not disagree with my thread title, but the truth is I really am.

A little over a week ago I was diagnosed as having Myasthenia Gravis, or MG. MG is a neuro-musculature disease that affects the brain/muscle signal resulting in weakening of the voluntary muscles. Luckily, the smooth muscles such as heart, and digestive system are not affected. Early symptoms include drooping eyelid, and double vision (it's a real problem sitting here trying to type). More advanced stages include: Difficulty swallowing, and breathing.
Treatment is available, however, and from what I read, reasonably successful.
I haven't played pool in almost two months, and have no idea as to when I might play again. It is very frustrating. And scary.
I'm going to lay low for awhile. I don't feel very funny these days anyway, and treatment for this thing may be a long drawn out affair.

Feel better Tramp Steamer!

Positive thoughts coming your way for a smooth and easy time of it.

Warm regards,

Tramp,
I am very sorry to hear of your illness. I'm expecting your sense of humor will help you in your recovery and hope that the good will of AZB will make the journey easier for you. You surely have mine.

Keep us in the loop. Recently AZB members seem to be dropping like flies around here. You are a valuable contributor to the forums and we appreciate your presence.

We don't want to see the following pic any time soon. (Hopefully, I won't catch too much hell from the haters for my attempt at some of your unique humor)

Well wishes

I just seen this as I got in from a long holiday with family.

Trampster:
You have touched so many peoples lives in so many ways !! I know you are a man with a strong will. That you have , and display here to your friends on AZB. Take some time off.

Just remember one thing Tramp: It has to live with you as well as you having to live with it !

Sorry to hear but ...

Tramp, this disease may have you in a lockup safety but I know you'll fight your way out of it, then grind it out for the victory. When you defeat this thing, see if it has the heart to go double or nothing. My guess is that it will back down.

Even though you went out of your way to denigrate me in times past I hate to see anyone suffering. I wish you a full recovery so that you can come back here in good health and clear mind to trash me some more. :-)

For real, I do understand pain and feeling your mortality. I don't wish it on anyone and hope sincerely that you can recover and get back to a state of well being. Don't lose your funny though, it might be what pulls you through.

See -- this place isn't so bad afterall.

Hang in there Tramp. This place needs you.

I'm not too good at the prayer thing but I'll give it a try on your behalf.

I hope the treatment works for you, and at least your doctors haven't looked at you and have told you they have done everything they can do.

You should go to the children cancer treatment center.

10 bucks say all of those children would trade lifes with you in a New York second.

I've lurked here quite a while & truly enjoy your wit and wisdom.I'll be praying for you,I'm on a first name basis with Jesus so he'll listen to me.And He also knows you,get well my Az friend !!!

Hey Tramp;

How did I miss this thread 'til now?

I am wishing you the very best for 2016 and beyond.

With all of the laughter you have provided us here, you deserve a good roll.

Maybe get two-tooth Sally to make you some of her Appalachian penicillin (pigeon soup).

Be well, my friend.

best,
brian kc

Hang in there Tramp. I have a buddy that has made decent progress with MG, he was unable to work for a while but is on the comeback trail now. The double vision is getting better and he is able to drive himself around now.

Can't say anything that other people haven't said already, but I can wish you my sincerest good wishes for you and your treatment.

Bob
