I trying to learn how to build and cut rings so I can practice duplicating some for myself just in case I'm required to do some joint work in the future. Can anyone give a step by step process to build rings? Thanks.

these fit kj's arborI am just about to start building some rings myself, so I would be very interested in any tips or advice on building rings as well. I think I have a fairly good concept, but there are plenty of specifics that I haven't tried out yet.
For example, since I haven't cut any ring billets yet, I am wondering if most everyone cuts the slots with end mills versus a 3 wing slot cutter type of bit and if that is the case, is it just for a cleaner more accurate cuts? I am working with a hightower deluxe lathe with a pc router which I could use either a slot cutter bit or use end mill bits (with an adapter).
Also where is a good place to find a parting saw like the one that KJ used to sell? I contacted him and he doesn't have the little mini saws to cut off rings any longer... where else can I find something like this?

I have a dremel and router, both with brackets. I will assume the router will be the most accurate way to cut the grooves and cut the rings off correct? Easiest way to cut and prep the work that goes into the grooves?

The dremel bracket was just shipped to me. The router bracket is a 1 piece L bracket that mounts to the top slide. I can mount the router either horizontal or vertical. Ill post a pic later of it when I get home. Can we see a picture of that router and dremel bracket ?
Thanx Brent for providing the link for the saws.
This seller offers the saws for a price that's close to what I was offering them for.
did you notice the increase?
3 months ago, it was all free shipping
the last time i got a few, she didnt even give me a combined ship rate
I bought the 7 piece milling bits from Unique.
I use KJ's saw and you can cut veneer rings paper thin with it.
I see you have Todd's adjustable router mount, good stuff.
I made a few posts in the followng thread that show what I'm doing.
