buckeye burl cue with elk for the handle.[ one solid piece ].
cue is not quite finished, [ needs last coat and finish polish ].
it should be between 19 1/3 and 19 1/2 oz. the cue is cored from joint to butt cap with a .62 inch laminated maple dowel.
the buckeye has been stabilized.
the shaft came from an old one piece brunswick. has tight growth rings and is honey in color, no ferrule, and morri tip.
thanks for the interest in my cues, chuck starkey

the cue has been sold. the pin is the 1/2 by 8 inch wood pin i have been using now for a couple years. i believe wood pin contributes to the play of my cues, thank you chuck

Sweet cue

can you let us know what a cue like that would run$$$

For future consideration, honetly, I just want to know so I can start saving NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

:D

the cue has sold

the cue was sold $750.00. it will be finished and shipped next week.
i want to thank everyone that was interested.
if i built a cue with a elk forearm and butt cap, what wood should i use as a handle?
thanks again, chuck

ebony or dark coco for the contrast...or something with some figure like curly koa that will shimmer since the horn doesnt really have any glimmer to it

just a thought

Chuck, that is great looking cue and wonderful concept and design. I am certain this cue will not last very long, Dam waht a great cue!!!

Take care Chuck

Unique and beautiful! I vote for a padauk, black & white ebony, or sapelle handle on the next one.

Great looking cue Chuck. You had another buckeye cue posted not too long ago that I really liked! Keep up the good work.

Chuck,

I got home late today and the cue was by the door.

All I can say is, WOW!

This cue is amazing. Your pictures make the burl look green. It isn't. The combination of Elk horn and burl is stunning. And that shaft. The old Maple has so much character to it. It is actually interesting to look at. This truly is one cue that you have to see fully appreciate.

And the feel of this cue goes one big step beyond either of my other Starkey's. It must be because of your no ferrule shaft, your unique wood pin, and the overall combination of materials.

Great work. Thank you so much.
