On the AZ front page,

Earl vs Archer race to 15 streamed free.

The IPT website has been retooled.

Oooooh Nooooo, not again.:(

If this actually gets off the ground, I can't believe Archer & Strickland would agree to participate.

Of course they will agree. As long as they get paid UPFRONT.

What I can't believe is the fact the the IPT will pay these guys to perform but haven't paid all the players yet from the last event.

If Johnny and Earl play withouth forcing the IPT to pay the players owed 1st they will loose all my respect.

I AGREE.................

I'm so glad there are three threads about this. I mean, for about 15 seconds, I completely forgot about the IPT.

This is just an assumption on my part, but it could be that Johnny Archer and Earl Strickland, like the majority of the IPT competitors, hope that the IPT will bring forth a few tournaments next year.

The IPT was fun while it lasted. The players had NEVER seen such a first-class venue. The business model, as most will agree, was flawed, but not everybody hates the IPT.

Bravo to Johnny and Earl! :)

Didn't an Asian businessman buy it from Trudeau?

Trudeau must be able to sell ice to Eskimos. Hey, here this failed business which still owes its constituents roughly $800,000 or more. How much will you give me???

Yeah cause it sure sucked seeing an international field of the top pool players in the world going toe to toe for more money then this sport has ever seen played for before!

What the IPT tried to do was far and away larger the this sport has ever seen before and the chance of some road blocks were large. Nevertheless they are clearly still trying to make this sport bigger and better, which is good for pool if they manage to succeed.

Without the IPT we are left with what, a single tournament, the WPC that actually pulls in the top players in the world to compete for about 60,000 first place? Otherwise we get other smaller tournaments that simply dont get the top players in the same place at the same time, not even the US Open comes close to getting the field they should.

This sport sucks right now. The players have no true tour that pulls in the best of the best. The IPT might not be perfect but without it this sport is a useless amature hobby played in the bars with nothing going for it. The IPT at least has a chance to make this game bigger then the almighty sport of cup stacking which is about where we stand atm.

Noone is doing anything to really move this sport forward besides the IPT. Where the heck is the BCA with regards to pro pool? It is the best amature league in the world but you would think they would put more effort into building a strong pro circuit given the power behind the name, the ability to promote the diamond tables to both pool halls and homes, and build more interest in the amature ranks as they would now have a pro tour that league players could actually dream about advancing to in time.

At LEAST the IPT is something, it is a small hope for a sport that otherwise has none at all atm.

Right on, Celtic. I couldn't have said it better myself! :p

Ipt Are You Kidding Me

let me start off by saying it was a beautiful thing the first 3 tournaments. had us all hoping that after so long pool had finally arrived mainstream. however that being said this is a smack in the face. the least of which players still remaining to be paid their full amount. this just shows how bad off this sport really is. the top players grab at anything that presents its self to make money. i would think that all players would boycott them until monies have been paid. this really makes me sad. to think that talented players have to get in bed with someone who has treated them so unfair.

According to WHOIS, Trudeau Management still owns the domain name.

Proof...

Vinnie

the domain name can be owned by anyone, doesn't have to be the business owner. You can have your gramma be the owner if you want, it's like 15 bucks so the new owner's probably not worried about it.

It was sold to stanley ho for $150 million.

Someone willing to pay me to play pool? I would think they would be foolish not play, I dont care if the IPT owed every pool player in america 1 million dollars. Buisness is buisness, they can't worry about other people, and it looks like they aren't.
