On the dead guy, what I read didn't appear conclusive. He may have endorsed opinions the KT held and had stated previous to writing the book, as KT was involved in this industry with ventures including selling Coral Calcium long prior to the release of this book. Could it have been spin...or blatently false...I dunno. As I've said before, I don't endorse everything in the book, as there is not a single natural health book that I would endorse entirely, but I'd say that many, including Natural Cures contain important ideas that are helpful. If I wrote the book, I'd state my arguments against the medical - pharmaceutical industry in different ways...and I probably wouldn't find a publisher or sell a copy...lol
As for the impact on the staus quo, I think it is obvious. The book and the infomercials slam the medical and pharmaceutical industry for being terrible at providing health. As millions have bought the book, this effects the legitimacy of the staus quo, that is the government approved professionals in the industry and whatever claims they make.
Colin
I can respect that, Colin, but the FDA has deemed his book as ridiculous. The FCC has banned him because he has repeatedly deceived the public with his products. He lied about Dr. Ley's comments. He never made them. He was deceased long before Kevin wrote Natural Cures. Kevin has failed to produce any scientific proof, nor can he site any studies that actually existed. When confronted about his claims he backpedals and looks very silly - like he did during the interview conducted by ABC where he had no explanation about the statement made by the University of Calgary. He claims his lack of medical training is what makes him an expert in this field. The only logical explanation is that Kevin never thought anyone would go out and verify his claims or his referenced "studies". He banks on the idea that he believes that there are more dumb people out there than smart people. The same thing I did when I was out on the road trying to make money (as Jake pointed out) so I know a huckster when I see one.
ZAHN: And one of the things you recommend is getting 15 colonics in 30 days. According to this same Dr. Johnson: "There is no medical reason to have even one of these procedures..."
TRUDEAU: Sure.
ZAHN: "... which typically involve purging the bowels with enemas, let alone 15 in one month."
TRUDEAU: Horror. I know.
(CROSSTALK)
ZAHN: He says -- quote -- "All that purging could lead to dehydration..."
TRUDEAU: Yes.
ZAHN: "... or electrolyte imbalances, which can disturb heart rhythms."
(CROSSTALK)
ZAHN: True or false?
TRUDEAU: It's false. That's his opinion.
ZAHN (voice-over): Ironically, Trudeau says its his lack of medical training that allows him to reveal these natural cures, cures some readers say aren't actually in the book.
If you received 15 colonics in 30 days, Colin, then everytime you sat down you would lose bowel control. That comes directly from 3 different physicians that I asked personally. I never mentioned Kevin or his book when I inquired about it. Conspiracy? I think not.
This is a trasnscript of his complete interview with Paula Zahn - it starts about half way down the page. He never directly answers any of the qestions.

Its the same thing when he started rambling about the 25% ratings increase. Ratings are not measured with percentages, I happen to have extnsive experience in this area, so when I saw that, I challenged it and you in turn challenged my experience and knowledge. Ratings are based on points. These ratings are used to sell advertising. KT is purchasing air time to show the IPT like its an infomercial. Ratings only factor in if he is planning on selling this to another network besides FOX, which would dispute his earlier claims of a possible long term deal. Even if this is the case, he would have presented the ratings points as evidence of success, not % increase because it is misleading data (what are we comparing the % increase to and why?)
What happens when pool is tossed aside just like he tossed aside his Mega-Memory stuff and his cancer pills or his claims of the medicinal value of crocodile protein peptide? If this is a scam on the players, he'll just go off an reinvent himself and prey upon something or somebody else. He's earned that reputation. I'm just pointing it out. If this fails, our association with him will have extensive consequences. You may not want to look at that, but it is true.
