IPT Match - Manalo vs. Morris

I for one refuse to watch any of their exhibition matches. Theres no way in hell i'm going to log on there and give his website hits that he is showing to sponsors to get them to invest money.

slightly surprising as somebody has already said to see morris playing - he was very vocal about the late payment issue before. suppose it just shows the IPT are being reasonable about it all though. kind of a "we don't blame you for being pissed off so we're not gonna hold it against you" school of thought. and likewise rodney is probably thinking well i've been paid now, let's give it a shot.

Why? Why is the IPT failing a good thing for pool? Why is getting sponsors to invest in a multi-million dollar tour for our game a bad thing?

I just

want to bring a point or two. Rodney is a better money player than tournament player. He, too, has a reputation of being able to get there for the cash. And if Rodney is in stroke, Manalo doesn't have to like it.

Its just my opinion. I refuse to help someone like KT make money off of pool players anymore. If the players dont mind it, thats fine and I wish them the best. But KT's actions and character are what i'm considering as a consumer.

You may have a point there. Manalo is one of the rare Filipinos who does not gamble. However, he is very steady and I like his game better so I will go for Manalo.

Manalo doesn't gamble? I was in Reno a couple/few years ago and Manalo gave Tony Chohan the 8 playing some ahead 9-ball set for 5k jelly beans. That's the only time I saw Manalo live and he gambled. I've never seen him do anythig else :p :D.

Isn't that cutting off your nose to spite your face? By all accounts, KT has LOST money with his IPT venture.

-djb <-- thinks you're missing a chance to watch a good match

Are you sure about that?

You don't seriously think that someone paying POOL PLAYERS millions of dollars actually made a profit? That must explain why he's doing $5k challenge matches about once a month now - he's just raking it in.
