IPT optimists?

I was wondering how many others there are like me who are optimistic about the IPT. I have read a lot of the negative messages about the IPT and Kevin Trudeau. Nothing I have read or observed about the IPT or Kevin Trudeau has me convinced that the IPT can't be successful or KT is a bad guy (I could be wrong).

I have never tuned into a live pool feed but I will definitely watch Strickland and Archer. I believe this is a very clever move by the IPT. I am sure the quality will be better than any live pool feed ever and I have always enjoyed Grady as a commentator.

My guess is another payment will go out prior to that match. So far they have paid off $2,310,000 of the 3 million owed from the last tournament. If someone stiffed me for 3 million and then over the course of a year or so paid me $2.3 million of it I would be happy and pretty confident they were going to make good on the rest.

If I were in their position I would probably be taking similar actions to what they are doing. Getting out their communication to potential sponsors, making up the damage for what they have done wrong, promoting like crazy and trying to get their product known.

Will it succeed this time? I'm hoping it will.

Optimists?

Sorry if I may not be terribly optimistic, but what leads you to believe that "the quality will be better than any live pool feed ever".

OMG wayne,

Then you need to read more. Kevin Trudeau was convicted of credit card fraud for charging people's credit cards multiple times for the same transaction. That's a felony, yo. He acted all like, "Whoops, sorry about that! The credit card machine musta been on the fritz!" but fortunately, the authorities did not buy it.

He promised every IPT member would make 100K minimum the first year, even if he had to pay it out of his own pocket. This brought a lot of road players off the road, ruining their action. Then what happened? Kevin STILL has not finished paying off the monies owed from the last tournament. Frankly, I am thinking he is being watched by the Feds right now for the slightest slip up, is the ONLY reason he is even bothering to pay off the players.

He is a convicted felon who uses his books to prey upon the elderly. The guy says there are "Natural Cures" for cancer and arthritis, and "Buy my book now, and learn what "They" don't want you to know about my Natural Cures.

He is a scumbag of the first degree, and if you've not read anything that points to bad things happening when he gets involved with pool, then you've not bothered to look for any info.

?

Where is pool headed anyways????????

If pool gets BAD PRESS , it's better than the press it's getting now.

I'd rather take a long worthless bumpy ride with KT or whoever else is driving pool somewhere than staying where it's at now.

Mnay players will have the same attitude, but, I'm guessing many will say to hell with it and not again.

What he did to pool players world wide was just plain criminal to say the least. I hope they at least ask some questions this time. It would be a shame for it all to happen all over again.

What he said and with respect, what is your source of information re: the $2.3 million. Last I heard it was about 50% of the total but I have been so disgusted about the whole thing that I admit to not having paid much attention.

Just curious.

But $3 million is not the total. He PROMISED $100k minimum to all those who spent LOTS of money to qualify that was in many cases begged and borrowed (and stolen in a few cases....KIDDING)

So, forget about multiplying the number of qualifiers times $100k...what about the serious expenses so many spent to qualify???

I respect your right to your opinion.

Regards,
Jim

I am sure the professionals who went out and bought new cars based on Trudeau's guarantee of 100K income would agree with you, sir.

Yeah. That's right. Mike Segal is really hallucinating that he is driving around town in a Ferrari. And Thorsten Hohmann really didn't pocket $350,000, And Efren was paid in funny money when he won the King of the Hill. And all the millions in prize money that WAS paid out in all those tournaments doesn't amount to a hill of beans in your book.

Yep. You got it all figured out. That KT is nothing but a big phony. Yeseree, Russ.

I guess we won't be seeing you in any of those future IPT tournaments or in the audience.

I'm staying focused on what KT has really done for Pool. He has done more than ANYONE for pool in such a short time. He gave all those pro players and some up and comers the opportunity of a lifertime: not once but several times. And he hasn't given up. He should be inducted into the Hall of Fame just for what he's done so far!

Hillarious. Those poor hustlers came in from the cold harsh road and bought brand new cars because KT promised. You mean many of those guys who hardly bet a dime or risk much more unless they get a game they can't lose. Those honest moral ethical church-going god-fearing road players might have gotten "took" by that stupid KT snake. Oh, my. Hand me a hanky to dry my tears. How I feel for those innocent unsuspecting naive road players.

NUTS!

I dont know how to take this comment. But - If someone went and bought a car because of money they were owed, promised, thought they'd get, shoulda, woulda, coulda, Than I would point them in the direction of the millions in credit card debt.

DONT SPEND MONEY YOU DONT HAVE.
or as my mom told me "don't count the chickens before they hatch"

They are dumb. Dumb. Dumb. Dumb.

Wow.

I'd rather view the glass as half full. I don't really care either way - but I figure for arguments sake I would play devils advocate and pick the side of evil (KT). Why not. It's a step in forward anyway for IPT , so only time can tell.

LOL..I will never understand it.

Just curious...how many of the IPT players do you ACTUALLY know? I don't mean you see them in the pool room. How many are your friends? Must not be too many based on the above response.

If YOU were on the players end and invested $1000's in qualifying only to be left holding the bag I bet your flippant response would be different.

But wait, I know you are too smart to ever be in that position. Blah Blah Blah...

It is getting to the point where I can have the IPT discussion all on my own.

what has he really done for pool ? he created an even more negative image for the sport.

has done more than anyone.... you bet!, he has made a lot of people and pros paranoid about any other pie-in-the-sky venture that may actually have a chance of succeeding!

hasn't given up yet... heck no, he's still double billing people's credit cards and looking for new ways to bilk people out of their money!

man, get a grip on reality and see the crook for what he's worth: about 2 cents and a plugged nickel...

What are you KT in a not so convincing disguise? Or his agent or something?

This gets my vote for ?post in history?

I don't know anyone who had anything to do w/ the IPT, but from the outside looking in I can't understand why anyone would give anything w/ the IPT logo any credit. If anything I would think the guys at the action report would be pissed. This seems a little to close to what they were doing.

I have known about the "New IPT" for quite some time. Mike Sigel has told me a lot of very good inside information about it and it seems as if it is a very good plan.

Here is the problem...

Will the players and fans support the product after all that has happened in the past?

That is the big question. Kevin Trudeau has some very good people involved in this new venture, and Kevin will definitely deliver it in high class style - with high class venues and high class this and high class that... all in an attempt to draw people in again.

You will have players that will support Kevin (look at the facts, they need the money).

You will have players that will not want anything to do with KT initially, only to buckle and give in when they see their friends cashing checks with lots of zeros on the end.

You will have some players that will not want their name associated with this in any way.

Its a tough call for me. Mike Sigel and I have talked a lot about this new venture (and from what I heard from Mike) this is the same type of format that I suggested last year - one on one match ups with a pit style of environment. Pull out all the stops and present pool in it's truest, barest form. I think this is a smart move.

I don't think Kevin should try to market the players in class and style. Market the players as themselves. If the guy's name is Ronnie Wiseman, call him Ronnie Wiseman, not Ronald. Let his mother call him Ronald.

Have different divisions - 8 ball, 9 ball, 1 hole, 14.1, banks - have titles that can be defended. Have one main event per month, with 3 smaller events where you can have undercards to determine your top contenders. You'll have your champions, and you will have your contenders that will be fighting to get to the championships and the big money.

Allow the players to dress in a way that will draw in the REAL fans. Let the players be themselves and allow their true personality to get across to the audience. If he can do that, he will be successful. If he tries to sell some pre-packaged unmarketable bullshit like before, he'll suffer the same fate as before.

Myself, I will continue to support the regional tours as well as The Action Challenge. I wish KT and Co the best of luck.
