Boyes has made 8 BRO's in his first 2 matches. Hogue has made 7 and an 8-ball break.

SVB won his first, then Vidas won and then had 2 BROs. Vidas leading 3-2 now.

Ellerby leads Matlock 4-1.

ps. I'll follow up those other queries re: Deuel and Putnik.

Kelly, Gerda and Sarah have all won a match now in addition to Alley.
Monica is getting close, if she can get the next two she could make it.

For Pete: Re: Deuel.
He lost his first 5-8 to Daulton and had a break in the second round.

For Predator: Re: Putnik.
Putnik lost his first 7-8 to Alcano. He's currently 2-2 with Alcaide.

Sigel leads Broxson 6-1
Fisher 5-1 Grady
Webb 5-1 Scott Frost

I'm guessing Denver Bargers real name is Floyd??? Thats the only Barger on there. I hope so because if it is hes 2-0.:) I'm lost on this round robin stuff though. I will have to read up on it.

Done your cash already! :D

Brits are flying! ;)
The strip clubs wouldn't take my money. I tried to tell them 5 jiao was a lot of money in western China....:p

I also think a few of the Brits are big threats here. esp. Boyes, Appleton and Hill.

Colin

Among the British players themselves I think there is a feeling that Neil Raybone might be one to really watch, but I do agree with you on Boyes, Appleton and Hill.

Colin -

Thanks for the updates.

If you see Fu JianBo, tell him "good luck from Shanghai"

Good work Colin.

Would be interested to hear about Phil Harrison v Linda Carter.

Boy, that Phil doesn't miss much! He turns off his hearing aid, so that he doesn't hear anyone. He played a lot of great (read tricky) position shots. It will be funny when he plays Mike Sigel!

Both Phil and James Roberts ran 3 racks on me...James did his the last 3 games. :( I double hit the cueball on one of my shots and called the foul on myself and he didn't see it. I also fouled twice more, not getting a ball to the rail. Snow nap and all, lol.

Thanks Colin, for sweating my matches.

Takes a real classy pool player to call a foul on theirselves! :)

Hello,
Earl Strickland changed the shaft on his break cue at 6-4 up over Miyuki Sakai and the shaft he started using from that point on had a phenolic tip and ferrule- clear as day to see in the close-ups. We've been discussing this over on the Pro9 forums and apparently (thanks Mr D'Vali) it is legal to use a phenolic tip provided there is some leather component in it. Therefore the Predator BK 2 is legal as there is a thin layer of leather somewhere in the tip's construction which, apparently, means it doesn't count as being phenolic! This might theoretically apply to the tip Earl was using too, then, but I don't think so as it was a one piece ferrule/tip combo as I say.

Seems unfair if Alcaide got penalised and Earl didn't. Very inconsistent refereeing all round.

Sorry this is long,

Chris (Chrstc).

As I recall, unless they have changed it recently, the BK2 has a linen/phenolic tip with a graphite fiber pad under the tip. No mention of leather in the Predator ads.

Maybe Predator came up with a special IPT tip or something, or perhaps if you have a leather wrap on your cue, that counts.

Putnik just beat Hann 8-4

SVB trails McKenna 4-6 and looks like going 4-7 when I left.

Sigel just won another match 8-3 I think.

To Gawdawg....will pass on ur remarks to Fu best I can. He's having a ball here...and playing pretty good.

Hello Collin.
Would you care to give us some reports on some Filipinos.
I think all have won their match so far except for Valle who is 2-1.
Pagulayan is 3-0, Efren 2-0, Bustamante 3-0 (he's torching them!), Manalo 3-0, Orcollo 2-0 and Alcano 3-0...
If you could give an update on Valle vs. Immomen, i would highly appreciate it...Thank you very much sir..

Hi Cebuano,
I'll try to follow a few of the filipinos. They seem to be going very well for now.

General Update:
Charlie Bryant unfortunately is out after losing 8-6 to Mika after losing his first 2 matches this morning in a very tough group.

SVB lost his third an will not make the cut:(

LJJ was whooping some guy 7-1 but just gave up a frame.

...all for now,
Colin

Thanks a lot Colin.
By the way Orcollo vs Gary Abood in Group 15 would be an interesting match..Manalo won all 4 already and Efren is now 3-0...
