Is it really necessary???

Response to the Posting of Multiple Posts and the Proper way of doing this?!?

First of all, I have spoken to a number of AZER's about my medical situation and why I am having to sell my collection of Pool Cues and all the Accessories. I have been involved in the pool world since I was 14 and that was when I got my first pool cue and over the last 30 years I have continued to give to the pool and billiards world and all of the multiple generations involved in this great sport. Anyway, I received this post about listing all my items at one time, the reason why I do it is it is much easier to post at one time and know that I have covererd all the items i am selling, then trying to post 1 hear 1 there 2 here 1 there, and if I did this and had 400 items for sale, then there would be a problem with doing this. I have about 12 listings that I am placing right now, approxiamtely, and I dont think this is an excessive amount of listings. I do not bump them 3 or 4 times a day, I also sometimes dont list anything for a couple of days. So I ask, what am I doing wrong? Also, I agree that if I am selling 50 cues that I have collected, if I had posted each one individually, I would have 20 AZERs' going nuts because I filled 3 pages of the forum so out of respect I dont do this. I am sorry if the way I posted the dealers cases is hard to figure out, but lly like, I am sure you will find a way to get ahold of me and ask the questions you have, right?

As for my medical situation, I was in the hospital until just a couple of weeks ago and I spent, 162 days in isolation in the hospital trying to get rid of a massive blood and bone infection in my right hip. The infection was caused by two metal bands being placed around my femur improperly and both came apart and ate through all of my muscles and ended up creating a massive hematoma that got infected with MERSA, Staph-aureus and MSSA Staph-Aureus and I also contracted a very high death rate Fungal infection in my blood from all the chemicals I was given and my body could not fight off the Fungus in my blood and I came down with a Candida Albicans infection in my b lood. Because I have no immune system, the smallest infection can kill me, so for over 5 solid months I was in a hospital in isolation being treated for all of these infections and even now my bone marrow is so destroyed I dont know how long I am going to be able to stay out of issolation. I then was moved to my home and I got sick and so they have been moving me back and forth from a re-hab center to my home that has been modified to try to keep the air quality such that I can stay there instead of being in a hospital. Oh, I forgot to tell you, that the infection ended up taking my whole right hip, so I cant walk anymore and I am left with my left hip for mobility. So, when I get to pla pool I will have to try to learn how to play from a wheel chair or some other way.

Next area, Someone asked about me buying a high end cue and that was why I was selling something. I have had to buy and sell as much as I can because the medications that I am on, insurance wont pay for a couple of them and I have to write a check to the hospital or pharmancy each month for, $2,900, or they will not give me the medications that have the highest success rate of staying alive. So, The cue that the one AZER mentioned, I was not keeping the cue for myself, I had another buyer that was going to pay me a profit on if I could get a specific cue he was looking for. But, I did not have the money necessary to buy it so I could turn the cue and make some money for the medications.

So, the next area someone stated that I got funds from an azer. I have never asked for a penny from anyone ever for the medical situation that I have been going through. I had talked to one azer and he placed an ad, not me and let some AZER's know what I was going through and a few azer's sent me some funds for my medication for that month and one person put a cue up for me, and, I thank every one of the AZER's that helped me out from the bottom of my heart. But, please don't make me feel bad for accepting an offering of compassion from someone, when I have done nothing wrong.

Fianlly, another AZER asked how I could be doing all of this from a hospital, the answer is it is not easy. Many people I have dealt with, have been informed that I cant send the packages out myself and I have had to use my cousin who lives out of town from where my house is an all my pool stuff is located at. He has to come from out of town, collect all the items, package them wrap them and ship them out for me, I also have a mother that has been a huge help for me in this area also. I have had a problem a couple of times with not being able to get the packages out in a speedy manner because I had no on to send off the packages for me. So there is your ansswer to that part of the question.

I have tried to be as fair, up-front and easy going, especially when I consider that I am selling off the things I have collected over 25 years and the money is not going to a vaction in the Bahamas, its going to pay for medications to fight and infection to try to stay alive. People need to be a liittle more empathtic and unerstanding as to how easy a lot of people have life. If they only knew how bad life could be they would be very appreciative and not be so critical and negative about life ans such small things. If all you have wrong with your day is wondering that how someone posted some items for sale in a forum, then all I have to say is that your life is pretty good and you should be a happy camper.

Fianlly, for the way I have posted my listings, I have posted the easiest way I know how and tried not to violate any rules and I have not to my knowledge. I appreciate the feedback from others on how to post things, but remember these are azers' oppinions and not laws that have to be followed. I am trying the best I can with what I have been given.

So with that, I will drop out and let others do some refelecting on their own lives and realize that life is way to short to sweat all the small stuff. Focus on the things that are really important in life, Your Families, friends, Your Health, Your happiness and a lot of other big issues in life. That is where the focus of your attention and efforts should be, just my opinion, just like everyone elses opinions, and guess what, everyone has one.

Personally, I like the idea of breaking up the forum into cues, case, etc. Then you get to post your ad...NO BUMPING. Ads would appear in the order they were posted. People can simply browse the ads or search them! It would be nice if it were possible to allow say up to 200 ads per page. It would make browsing easier.

Michael..I think we ALL get that you have an ongoing struggle with a multitude of ailments.. WE GET THAT! I would just like to point out to you that the same information over and over looses it's intended effect.. Your response is a good example.. No one is attacking you Mike...I understand...I would ask that you do the same and just understand why this thread got the response it did....
Oh, I am also considering ALL offers on my case.. I may not be actual eel skin but it's still a nice case nonetheless.. Any Offers?

Mike, there is obviously a problem when so many members far more intelligent than me, agree that you have been abusing the WFS.
That was a very good response, and most of the members here do have compassion for people, especially me.
Several members like to help people, and I'm sure that if your sales were more understandable, with more consolidation, better pics,
fewer bumps, and less annoying comments, you would be more successful.
I would bet that a few people would order something from you just to help out if they could understand what you were selling,
and personally I don't like to Pm people unless I'm sure I want to buy it.
The situation with Bogey, the not not not for sale Mali cue, and Ebay could of been handled better.

You do have a good sense of humor, the ITrader comment about people making you sound like you should be a 7-9% was pretty funny.
Hopefully you can beat this illness and get off of those expensive medications, which has to be draining you financially.

I know these aren't laws, but when so many people agree that there is a problem, you should take their advice and settle down a little.

Hope that others also see some of my points as well. Even though this post started out as a problem with posting your sale items all at one time, it turned into a forum for personal attacks on me, in an open forum without giving me a chance to explain or defend myself. That is why I stated that all of this was, "NOT THE RIGHT PLACE FOR THESE TYPES OF DISCUSSIONS". They need to be brought up with the rules commitee or by the Deputies and let them contact a member if he is doing something wrong. It is not the right or the responsibility to be the mother hen of the site. And the person making the comment might not know what the rules and regulations are to be being the rules-police. That is all I was saying.

As to the comments about multiple listings at one time, I can break them up, but then someone is going to mention that I have 10 postings and isn't that excessive and from there where does it end????

Otherwise, I appreciate all the help from AZERS' and I leave the issue, dead and in the dirt, but I do take note as to the point be stated initially.

Here is a great example of how one AZB member with several cues to list did an excellent job of listing what he had for sale, giving all the specifications, IDing each specific cue, and giving clear photos. It is just one example, but I believe it is a good one.

I do not think this is too much to ask for and it also makes it better as a seller being able to find all the info in that one thread instead of looking at information and then having to click another link to find pictures which is confusing. Also you might sell other items because people are in that thread looking at one cue and then see others you have in that thread.

As to the comments about multiple listings at one time, I can break them up, but then someone is going to mention that I have 10 postings and isn't that excessive and from there where does it end????

Otherwise, I appreciate all the help from AZERS' and I leave the issue, dead and in the dirt, but I do take note as to the point be stated initially.

I didn't see many personal attacks on you. What I did see was plenty of people saying your multiple ads are clogging up the forum and are confusing and asking you to please stop it. From what I read of your response it looks to me that your attitude is that it is none of our business how our for sale forum is operated. I think you are wrong there.

A few people took the time to comment on unhappy circumstances that resulted in dealing with you. I don't really see these as personal attacks. To me those are transaction reports, which is one of the functions of this forum.

I hang out in the For Sale forum and I'm not liking coming on and having to search through ace's multiple posts offering the same items over and over , cross referencing multiple listings, and effectively burying the quality offerings under a ton of repetitive junk.

I had thought that maybe ace was unaware of his effect, and when made aware, might respond responsibly.

I was told by those that had dealt with him that this thought would be proved wrong by ace and it was.

I'm disappointed.

I totally understand, I just consolidated my 5 listings into 3. Some people listen to constructive criticism and others feel attacked. I think people have spoke and now its up to Mike to take the advice and improve his listings, maybe list cues 200 and less and 200 and up.

I quit looking at any of his items. Just a waste of my time.

I'm not sure consolidation is the only answer. I guess it depends on what you are selling. Like I said earlier in the thread, Marcus (fast-n-loose) lists his offerings separately (as do I) because they are fairly unique items. When Marcus relists his stuff, it does effect the forum a bit, but I swear it seems like he only bumps every two weeks or even less. So really if his block of items push you down too far too fast, you can just bump yours back a little quicker than normal. Myself, I rarely list more than 3 items at any one time and I'm online a good portion of the day, so instead of bumping them all at once, I can spread it out and there's never some huge block of my stuff dominating the For Sale forum. Little Kenny on the other hand, lists about 10 MONSTER cues at one time all in the same thread. Different strokes for different folks.

The point is that Marcus, you, Little Kenny and I are trying to do some business here on AZ and still trying to be good community members. I really tried to give ace a chance to do the same and he disappointed me.

Great I-Trader rating BTW, I know from eBay experience, you don't get that kind of high standing without going out of your way for your customers at times.

Thanks, I try to do my best to make people happy, I have shipped hundreds of items this year and have a had maybe a handful of issues, sometimes shipping or a defective product but I always do my best to make it right. One thing I know is you cannot please everyone but you have to try and be fair.
 
Additionally

Folks that do a fair amount of selling on the forum should be required to be Club Members in my opinion!

Click on the "User CP" in the top left of the page.

Scroll down the left side of the User CP page to where it reads "Paid Subscriptions".

Click on that and follow the instructions..

ijust stopped opening his threads and deal with scrolling past the numerous forum clogging nonsense. i would have put him on the ignore list but it doesn't block threads, only posts.

didn't bother reading his long post above, no excuses for this abuse of the for sale forum.
 
All that I can really add is that I'm a fairly new member. I have been around forums a long time, but around this one for a relatively brief period.

I just got back into pool a couple of months ago and found this site when I was looking for a table mechanic. I have purchased a set of balls and a couple of cues on here thus far. The only method I was able to use to buy a cue was to go into the FS section and post a WTB ad.

Why was this necessary? Because the FS section is disaster. It's a hodge-podged mess of a place. I agree with locking down all threads in the FS section. We don't need useless bumping of threads to get them back to the top. I would even prefer to see a Craigslist type of system where you list it, it stays listed for 7 days and if after 7 days you'd like to relist you can go right ahead.

I would hope that it could be more tightly policed than CL and people really could only list there stuff once every 7 days instead of incessantly, but nontheless, I think that system works better.

I actually wish there was a dealers section and a non-dealers section. As much as everyone wants to jump all over the acedonkey-whatever guy, I see the same damn shit from the same damn people every single day. Cummatively, all of you flood this section in exactly the same fashion. It's always the same 6-8 guys posting all day long, every day, and bumping their threads.
