Aiming = Alignment, CJ is just trying to sound like he knows what he's talking about.
What I'm about to write is heresy to all instructors, including C J, but foot positioning is not a big deal in my game.. Don't get me wrong. I put them in the right position and it feels better to have them in the right position than the wrong position..
I look at it like brooming, raking, or snow shoveling. It feels better to have my right hand on the top of the
stick and my left hand on the bottom, but if I reversed the hands I'd have no problem still picking up all the dirt, leaves, or snow.
It feels the best having my feet in the correct position, but if I get lazy and put the feet in the wrong place, I still make the same percentage of shots. I know I'm certainly in the minority here.
As for your knock on CJ. You and many others in this forum should really learn how to read him. Much of what he says, resonates with me immediately, sometimes he analyzes too much for my taste, but if you read everything, little "gems" tend to pop out which will get me thinking and lead me to my own tinkering, which might be a tad different from his "way, " but his ideas turn out to be the catalyst which leads me to discovering "my way."
