is this a TIM SCRUGGS ???????????

Looks like Tim said it was his!

I had a long conversation with Tim. he looked at the pics, and definitely identified it as one of his cues. he couldn't pin it down to any specific year, but figured it was between 1970 and 1979. he said that during that time frame him and Mr Frey were cranking out a lot of these design cues.
Thanks for all the input.

I think it is Scruggs earlier stuff! Nice

i am confused ,isn't this a scruggs
tim made me several cues with the acryllic

but i thought tim identified it as his

what is the reason for thinking the cue is not Tim Scruggs

I only asked because:

1) I seldom trust Nick's "expert" opinion

2) it seems like after it was identified as a possible Scruggs, some others thought Tascarella. I just got confused.

3) Even tikkler's last post seemed to be indicative that it might not be a Scruggs but a Tasc.

But...

I REALLY dig this cue regardless of who made it.

did tim say it was his cue?

if so,that should settle this
i have found nick reliable in the past, but
if tim identified the cue
that is as final as it gets

Thanks to all for your help.......this cue IS an early Tascarella.

The acrylic gave it away for me not being a Scruggs... The stuff is pretty rare... And I have only seen it used by a very very few cue makers.

Tim made plenty cues incorporating acrylic. But the stuff in this cue is an old form of metallic acrylic. You just have to see it to understand I guess...

btw, I have seen a couple Verl Horn tribute cues, and it is different stuff...

You guys can guess which one is the real one and which one is the Horn..:D

Glad it finally got nailed down. I would send it to Pete and get it redone and signed. That way, it is a nonissue in the future.
