I have kind of felt sorry for Mike, (aka AzHousePro) the last couple of weeks with some of the Personal Attach, Trash Talking, and Non Sense that has been going on this Forum.

Think many forget its Mike’s House (aka AzHousePro), and he has establish a place to discuss the Game of Pool, Pool Equipment, Etc.

I think the set of rules of conduct are fair for membership, and are not unreasonable.

Also Mike (aka AzHousePro) is footing all the bills, and responsibility for running this Forum.

Maybe if everyone would just remember Mike (aka AzHousePro) is the Forum's Owner, and that the rest of us are just invited House guests.

The forum would settle down to like it was about a month or two ago when it seem Trash Talk, and Personal Attacks were not an everyday occurrence.

Mike has put together a group that is now monitoring the forums. They will make sure that these issues are directed to immediately. I know that this is going to help.

I love this forum.. I have made many many good friends and have learned so much. I too, appreciate everything Mike has done for us and the industry in general.

Yes. Very good points, but Mike also sells add space and do not forget, we are the customer. The money from add space is because we are on this forum. I believe we also have an obligation to respect others as this is a public forum and some people may form opinions based on our comments. I am not talking about posts that are part of discussions rather those that make remarks targeted at individuals to destroy their character. "Mean people suck".

A post that targets an individual who is not actively participating in a topic that demeans the individual as "Drunk" and other such remarks are uncalled for. Having a forum such as this one requires the owner of the forum be responsible. If demeaning remarks are made and the owner does not delete them and warn the poster, he then agrees that it is OK for such posts.

Yes there are many posts and it would be difficult for one person to monitor them all, but this goes with the territory. Mike did the right thing by adding other monitors which I hope will clean things up a bit. If we use the identify bad post option, we can also help.

I think it is as much a Labor of Love as well as just business. We should respect that as well. Put that in the equation. Mike has done a lot for the pool community. And it is not just to enrich his pockets. Thank you Mike.

Boy you can say that again. In the time I have ran this site, I have seen quite a few sites pop up with claims about how they are going to have player profiles, interview, up to the minute tourney news and oh by the way, here is how to contact us about advertising on our site. Those sites have all disappeared as the webmasters figured out that you have to do more than just throw a home page up and start cashing checks.

I ran this site for about 2 years before I even started running ad banners. I did it for the first two years because I love the game and I did it for the six years after that for the same reason.

If I didn't run this site and there was another one out there like it, I would be a regular visitor.

Alright, who made up a secret handshake and didn't tell me?

Is that like the old Steve Martin bit where he talked about the time the earth was taken over by aliens and they decided not to tell all the stupid people?

This site seems to get the most attention. Other sites are OK but this has a much more depth which is why I am here and almost never at other forums.

Mike has provided thousands of pool fans with many hours of pool related entertainment and informative news at basically no cost to the user, through many hours of his own work.

If he can make some $$ providing ads for related services then more power to him.

I for one am very grateful that this service has been available for the last several years.

Like most on the forum, I don't know Mike very well. I had the pleasure of meeting him briefly just a couple of months ago during the BCA open, and found him to be a really good guy whose passion for the game of pool matched, even exceeded, my own.

Let us never forget that Mike's limitless appetite for pool is the pillar on which our forum is built. As others have noted, there is a business aspect of AZB, but Mike's tireless administration of this delightful rest stop on the information superhighway called the Internet is a labor of love that only the most passionate advocate of pool would even consider.

As the thread title wisely notes, we are all guests in Mike's house. Let us show an appreciation for the host that welcomes us, as we would when we visited anybody's home. Just as importantly, let each of us show respect for and enjoy the company of all the other invited guests.

I haven't been on this board very long but I'll post my observations. Some people have been very helpful to me here, gone out of their way to do good things. A small minority have gone out of their way to be rude/weird. One thing I've noticed about message boards is that they really don't mirror real life in that some people are more inclined to be rude/weird on message boards than if a person is standing in front of them, for obvious reasons.

This is a good site, I appreciate the help I've received here.

I too would like to thank Mike for the work he's done over the years.

I've been an avid reader of this site and it's forum for well over 1 year now and have enjoyed it very much.

After reading recent posts I'm glad I was away during turbulent times while working on another project for pool players everywhere.

Unfortunately, some of the recent topics disturb me. Mike, I really hope your forum get's cleaned up quick. Remember, there's new people coming online everyday searching for pool information.

As a pillar in the community, your website and it's content are a masterpiece that many of us would hate to see get tarnished because of a few bad apples that rolled in this way.

"With great power, comes great responsibilty." -Uncle Ben to Peter Parker.

Wishing you and the gang at AzBilliards.com another fantastic 6 months online!
