it is that time, New Years Resolutions

Im trying to beat the ghost ,from break to finish, no ball in hand, 7 outta 10 games..

Might as well set the bar high,, especially when moneys involved ....

Start a light workout program to try and get healthy enough to play in tournaments or more than an hour at a time at a poolroom. My heart is still in it but my body is giving me hell. GOLDEN YEARS MY A$$. Johnnyt

Pool related of course!

Mine is simple, nothing I need more than playing time. I want to spend more time on a table this year.

Hu

I would like to meet a few more AZ'ers this year.
I would like to build a couple more cues out of some killer wood I have.
I would like to try and make a few milk duds out of some of the Tips you gave me Hu .
I want get back to competing in a few tournaments this year.

We finally sold one of our houses in this crap market and now I'm without a pool table for the first time in 13 years. That's my goal, make a pool table fit somewhere in this place - might have to be a barbox though.

Mine is simple !

Gonna give up giving up ! meaning i'm gonna try and follow thru with earlier goals that I've wound up putting on the back burner...plus leaving in a lil while to go to deer camp in Mississippi for a week..so goal is to bring home a Big one...shot 4 already but no tropheys yet..got plenty nuf meat now just looking for that special hat rack...Later guys..ya'll have a great rest of the Holidays..I'll be in da woods !

1. Drop 10-15 lbs
2. Qualify for Vegas in either team or singles comingup
3. Get the confidence and swagger back I used to have on my old stroke with the better new one.
4. Be able to compete in some of the stronger tournaments and place in the money occasionally like Olathe etc.

That's a start at least.

Happy New Year all

1. To get into better physical shape. (Not to lose any weight -- I'm 150 lbs soaking wet -- but rather for heart and lung health. Been letting work act as way too much of an excuse these past couple of years in not setting aside time to work out, and thus sank into somewhat of a sedentary lifestyle.)

2. To break my high straight pool run of 133, and/or score big runs more often. Gotta learn how not to let that cue ball get stuck in the pack on the break shot.

3. To enter more high-level tournaments and get my "tourney chops" sharpened. To enter as many regional events as I can -- e.g. Joss Northeast tour -- and go from there.

4. Attend the U.S. Open this year. The Chesapeake, VA area, for me, has a lot of fond memories from when I was in the U.S. Navy in the mid-/late-1980s.

5. Meet a lot more AZB'ers this year. There are several I'm chomping at the bit to meet.

That's as far as pool-related goes (and yes, number one *is* pool-related, because when one physically and mentally feels better, the outcome is a better game / playing ability).

2010 Complete Book

I'm in the process of writing a book on Pocket Billiards. Some 80 pages are essentially complete. It reflects hard earned information that was captured in some 14 notebooks. It is basically to clarify my game.

This year I would like to complete the diagrams, edit the descriptions for clarity and readability and add about 50% content. In general put my personal information into near publication condition. Until then, I am not interested in help.

Win a slot at the National Amateur sattelite tournaments to go to the finals in Florida in November.

I played for the first time this year and won a few rounds before losing prior to getting the slot.

This year I want to win a spot to the larger tournament.
