Stanley Ho is ALIVE. I guess that means no wake and no Chinese food..
Let's kill him.

Sorry All. This was truly a case of "lost in translation". My bad, and apologies to the Stanley Ho. The story of his demise was greatly exaggerated.

As a player i will be furious if this is 100% true(no reason to not beleive).for the IPT to postpone at this stage and the palyers not the first to be told is disgraceful.
DISGRUNTLED IPT PLAYER

BTW,i just try to search for stanley ho"s phone number in the chinese phone book, there was so many Wings and so many Wongs i ended up winging the wong number:-)

hehe....that's my Dad's favorite joke. But funny thing is, I've never seen a phone book in China. But if you could find one on the mainland, I don't think there are any Wings or Wongs. But you could Weng a lot of Wang numbers.:D

The Wong numbers are only in Hong Kong.

quite frankly i was gonna be thrown off anyway, so i don't care if the ipt ceases to exists, i'd just like my 5 grand due to me so i could get on with my life, and talk about kevin and his inmates,(the ipt staff )on 20/20.
Do you know what bernie i think you a hell of character and a good guy the first time that i met you,but i am afraid after reading your posts you have unfortunately changed my mind completely.
And this post is your worst by a million miles.
BTW they werent going to throw you off,you are where you are on the list as that is where you deserve to be,sounds harsh but it is the truth

What the crap is all of this? Postponement? Not cancellation? Is this in any way impacting the "smaller" tourneys/venues that probably had to rearrange their schedules to accomodate the dates of this tour?

I salute you girl! You're one positive gal! :D

Henry Fok is the one that died, not Stanley Ho. Both well known figures in HK and both are Tycoons, Henry being one of the Property Tycoons, while Stanley also involve is property, but is known for being a Casino Tycoon.

Hey Colin please don't hijack this excellent thread in an attempt to divert attention from this pressing issue! ;)

I bet Steve Lipsky thanks his lucky stars every day that he didn't do like a lot of people did and quit his job to follow you people.

I'm in a weird spot. When I made my decision, I had to listen to a lot of crap from people in my local rooms, telling me I was out of my mind. But the fact that my vindication must come at the expense of, well, this, doesn't make me feel very good.

To be fair, my major concern with turning down the card was not because I thought the tour would fail (at least so soon). To say the uncertainty of everything (and the association to Natural Cures) didn't weigh on my thoughts wouldn't be true either, though.

At this point, had I not initially turned it down, it wouldn't have mattered to me if he eventually paid everyone and the tour continued. I would've bailed a long time ago, pretty much as soon as the 2006 schedule was sliced and diced. So whether or not I turned it down in December '05, there is no way I would still have been a member today.

The guy is bad news and I just hope that my friends get paid.

On the way to Manila

Sitting in a hotel room in Guangzhou, China with my baby girl sleeping nearby.
Reflecting on the last few days. I've killed off Stanley Ho and tried to chase down the elusive TruDough from half a world away.

Soon I am off to Manila and the WPC. The first reunion of all the top players since Reno, U.S. Open not withstanding. Certain to be a sad undertone with the demise of the IPT.

As one who has spent a lifetime attempting to elevate the sport, this has often been a frustrating journey. At least at the WPC, there is one certainty, the players will be paid.

For me the good news, is the wonderful people I have met thru the sport. Intelligent, worldly and successful in their own right. Thanks again to Mike for creating this medium for us to communicate.

I look forward to keeping you all up to date on the happenings in Manila. Look for my updates in the WPC thread.
