J. Shaw's wife...................

The owner ran back footage of drinks she got and said all went directly from bartender to her table. His name is Billy Roberts and he's a stand-up guy. I don't believe for one second that anyone in his employ had anything to do with what happened. You can follow him and his business on FB. I know about about 10-15 people that were there. All were eating and drinking from the bar. No issues. If some customer pulled this shit they should be arrested and prosecuted for sure.
Thanks for that.
I don't know if anybody else mentioned employees, but I did and my commentshad nothing to do with any knowledge of the situation at hand. Sorry if anyone might read that and draw a different conclusion.

My comments were more of a general observation of individuals who might have access to items you get when out.

And speaking of things that could be misinterpreted....

the comments about Oklahoma City and following the money in the backers eventually got Roy's name in the mix.

I am sure no one believes it to be even a remote possibility that dennis' inner circle would have any involvement or even knowledge of such a horrid act.

This is very disheartening. Jayson's wife is a lovely lady and a person of the very highest quality. I couldn't be prouder to call her my friend. It is scary that anyone is sufficiently evil as to have taken this unfathomable action.

Howdy All;

Wonder if the hospital did a complete inspection for needle puncture marks?
Been a few mentions in the news about Ladies being stuck in the back, butt or
leg and injected in bars and other events and being drugged that way lately.

I got a dose one time in L.A. when I was playing for the lordly sum of $500 in a bar in South L.A. Back then the dosages were mild and they affected your equilibrium. It was some kind of horse tranquilizer. I didn't feel bad and felt like I was playing all right, but somehow kept missing shots, even some easy ones. It worked because I lost the Ten Ahead set. A couple of days later someone informed me what had happened. From then on I NEVER took a drink in a bar unless it was bottled water that a friend got for me from outside. It was a way of life for the low-life hustlers back then and you had to be on your guard everywhere. I guess the shit they are using today is far more deadly.

I totally believe it was meant for Jayson and not Ara. The culprit spiked the wrong drink.
This news really does suck. Without any tolerance and drinks in the system a benzo will definitely eff you up. Why would someone do that? This is like the start of a new bad pool action movie. Could be a good thing for pool….I would not be saying that under a worse outcome.

And if you are handing out benzos or liquid g, count me in. But Don’t even think about giving my lady that s$&@. I feel bad for this guy. And his wife especially.

You know me, and I would NEVER, EVER insinuate Roy's crew. I'm sure you realize Roy may have not been the only one involved in betting on one side or the other, though. It is that sector I am thinking about. Again, I would NEVER, EVER insinuate Roy and anybody associated with Roy. I think we all know he's above board and always has been in everything he is involved in, not to mention his contributions to pool as a whole and support to a variety of pro players. I just have to lay it out there in this thread before some troll, banned member posting, or Oklahoma City fan or local from this pool room comes forth with a theory, in an effort to throw suspicions elsewhere, insinuating that Jayson's wife is a closet drug addict and/or Roy did something untoward. It happened in this pool room bar, and this crime, for lack of a better word, was committed by somebody in that pool room bar.

Those who might be misinterpreted in this thread are those who are hinting young girls take drugs without their other half knowing and to look for the needle marks, et cetera. How insulting this is for an innocent woman who was drugged unknowingly, mother of two children, and wife who supports pool and a pro player! Shame on anyone in this thread who hints at this untruth. Shame on them!

And whether Jayson was drinking shots, water, or a milkshake, it is my opinion that the drug was intended for him and not his wife. What benefit would anybody have in drugging his wife? But if somebody was gambling, betting on Dennis to win, they could easily go near the area where the drinks were that Ara and her husband were sitting at.

The bottom line is that it is a fact that somebody drugged a drink that was consumed by a member of the Shaw family. Whoever it was and for what purpose is a mystery at this juncture, but it was not Jayson, his wife, or Roy who did it. It was some person inside that pool room bar who was gambling big money on Dennis to win. What other reason would anyone have to drug Jayson and/or his wife?

i don't know the layout or the clientel of the place, but surely the most common motif for spiking a woman's drink can't be ruled out?

i play in a generally high regarded pool hall but we are not free from that kind of people, especially on weekends. two big bouncers helps a little, but not so much pre-emptively.

Just to be on the objective side: to get a drug test result that quik usually means some sort of instant test was used. J said on his FB that HE did the test. Actual lab results take longer normally 24hrs+. The class of drugs commonly known as Benzo's(valium) often give a false positive when using a quik test kit. Many NSAIDS(Alleve etc) can result in false positives for benzos. I'm not saying something bad didn't happen but so far there is no concrete evidence that it did. Also, i had over a dzn. friends in the room and they said JS was not drinking drinks from the bar. Someone would have had to stick a needle thru a bottled-water cap. I don't like throwing people or places under the bus based on incomplete facts.

We don't know shit about shit when it comes to this... and technically we shouldn't. It's not our business. This is for Jayson, Ara, the bar owner and other parties they want involved.

Speculation can really hurt the wrong people in the long run.

We can only be thankful that she is now OK and hope that something like this doesn't happen again.

Exactly.

Never has so much been known by those who knew so little. Ya'll need to get a grip and let the dust settle. What here requires a rush to judgement?
The internet needs it's blood offering. Someone must be sacrificed. Satiate the mob!!!

Understood.
And while no one could discern from footage that anything was given to her, it doesn’t mean someone couldn’t have.

She didn’t roofie herself. Period.

I doubt JS administered a drug test himself, she was admitted to the hospital.
The hospital would have run her blood.
That gets done pretty quick and requires no outside lab.

The question is:

If you got done dirty like this....are you going to play out the set?

That part makes no sense at all.
If it's my own money... no.

If it's someone else's money, probably not... but pool players are shit bags... who knows what was said if that conversation even came up.

Again... speculation.

That did seem a little strange to me; however, we don't know the timeline of them figuring the spiking part out. I suppose if people were depending on me(backers, friends, etc) and my wife was stable and fine at that point, I might consider it, but probably not. My primary focus would be on making sure my wife was ok. If I didn't know about the spiking part, my secondary focus would be on finishing out the match because of the commitment I made. If I KNEW about the spiking part, EVERYTHING would come to a halt and I would find the MFer and we would be having words (and by words, I mean he would be getting skinned alive).

I can promise one thing, I wouldn't be leaving my wife's bedside unless she ok'd it.

I do not believe anybody in that pool room bar was trying to drug Ara Shaw and take advantage of her. Come on, man!

Why is it that people in this thread are trying to come up with other reasons that this happened when it is quite obvious this crime was an attempt to shark Jayson Shaw into losing? Nobody was trying to pick up his wife. His wife is not a closet drug addict with needle marks. The fact is Ara Shaw was drugged. How and by who and when is the mystery.

i have no dog in this, and i'm not shifting blame. i'm just saying that it is a bar and that the most common reason for spiking a woman's drink shouldn't be ruled out. i don't think a crime investigator would either. all kinds of bad people visit pool hall bars.

IF this was a side better doing this i hope he gets caught, but for crimes like these i imagine the chances being slim.
