Wow!
Anyone who doesn't see that it is $500 a game should sell there cues and get a math tutor.

Unbelievable logic here --- they are playing $500 a game. Period

If Jeanette wins a game, she wins $500

If Jeanette loses a game, she loses $500

Playing 6 ahead just ensures that someone will win 6 games @ $500 game = $3,000. ANY other logic you have on this is simply flawed. This is not a auto worker finishing 40 games and then thinking they won $100 a game.

If I ever played Jeanette or was involved in anyone playing Jeanette, I wouldn't mind playing her 6 ahead - but I would limit the amount of conversations she is allowed to have with her posse during and in between games to one 5 minute conversation every 4 games. This would include phone calls with her posse as well. This would also include bathroom breaks as well. She can have a 5 minute conversation OR a 5 minute phone call OR a 5 minute bathroom break every 4 games -- her choice. Anything longer or any other interuption by her posse or towards her posse is loss of game.

since this thread is pretty much useless anyway, and you mention jeanettes posse, I would like to share:

A cowboy was taken prisoner by a bunch of Indians. The Indians were all prepared to kill him when the chief announced that due to the celebration of the Great Spirit, they would grant the cowboy three wishes before he would die. "What do you want for your first wish?" asks the chief.

"I wanna talk to mah horse!" says the cowboy. He goes over to his horse and whispers in its ear. The horse neighs, rears back, and takes off at full speed. About an hour later, the horse comes back with a naked lady on its back. Well, the Indians are very impressed, so they let the cowboy use one of their teepees. A little while later, the cowboy stumbles out of the teepee, tucking in his shirt. "What do you want for your second wish?" says the chief.

"I wanna talk to mah horse!" says the cowboy. Again, the cowboy whispers in the horses ear. The horse neighs, rears back, and takes off at full speed. About an hour later, the horse comes back with another naked lady on its back. Well, the Indians are very impressed indeed. So, once again, they let the cowboy use one of their teepees. The cowboy stumbles out a little while later, and the chief asks the cowboy "What do you want for your last wish?"

"I wanna talk to mah horse!" says the cowboy. He grabs the horse by the ears and yells,

"You stupid animal, I said POSSE, POSSE!!!!"

Work, family, pool.

I understand that also, but most of us cannot give up work and family and play pool for three straight days. I understand it is not about us, my point was that there are other options to guarantee than no one breaks even after 20 hours of play.

True for me also. I also chose not to give up family and work to pursue a pool shooting ( CAREER ). However these players are not me and you and they relish days and days of non stop action. It's their job. Now I'm retired and play all I want. I run into those who chose pool over a regular hum drum working life, and most of them have little to show for their efforts. On a side note I played Jeanette in a challenge match a few years ago and won both games of nine ball on a big table. Woohoo! Granted she probably wasn't bringing her A game, but she has never ever beaten me!! LOL. Good talking to you. Hit em good!

How about we approach it from a different angle:

2 players play (6 ahead for $3k) for a long time and A ends up beating B 96-90.

Railbird, 'C', asks 'how'd y'all come out?'.

Does C reply:
1. I lost 6 games @ $500,
B. I lost 96 games @ $31.25,
or I lost 90 games @ 33.3333333333.

It is a trick question, you see. C does not reply.

How does B reply to C's question?:sorry:

What the hell is wrong with saying I won or lost $3000 and leave it at that.

Enough with the bet already!!!!

Was this match ever completed and, if so, who walked away with the cash?

In her defense, she gets alot of attention by fans, sometimes innocent doe eyed fans who are clueless towards what is going on. Not saying that its acceptable to play an opponent who has constant distractions that interrupt play regularly, but I would argue anyone who gets into the box with her has to know this is coming and be willing to fade it.

she was gambling one time and a little kid came up and asked her for her autograph. She stopped play and instead gave the kid some promo cue she had and autographed it. This story was on AZ sometime back. Ive also seen her in person her in south florida and it does seem that people come out of the woodwork to see her play and to get near her.

Some people in this thread are pure ignorant and I would not want any part of trying to gamble with them. Without pointing finger it is obvious to me that people who are saying 500/game in a six ahead is not enough are not people who get up and play a six ahead for 200 much less 3,000.

Also you cannot do simple math saying this match is less than 500 a game is again quite ignorant. If there were playing for 500 a game and pass the money back and forth as they win or lose would you think they were playing for 500 a game it is the same thing it is just saying both are posted up for losing up to six games.

Next on ending a match prior to the six games being reached almost anytime you see Jeanette play when she is matched up they will put in an 8 hour limit and agree to pro-rate after that time. Her back is pretty bad and she can play good for quite a while but 20 hour matches are no longer her style. Again this would have been agreed on prior to play.

Personally I like Jeanette, she is a fierce player and can play all games. She winds up coming out a game ahead for this session.

I didn't say a word about some fan or kid coming up to her. That would probably have a negative affect on her game.

Please uwate tell me you have more comprehension than the people in this thread that don't understand what 6 ahead for $5,000 mean.

What did you do with the autographed cue ;) and 6 ahead for $5,000 means when I'm ahead 6 games I win $5000

Jeanette

Doesn't anyone want to answer the original, five-pages-ago poster who asked how she did? And while we're at it, whom she played? GF

She never plays anyone that has a chance of beating her

Watched her play in the action room at the Derby for two nights.
Srongarm and the rest of her team made sure she didn't play anyone who could play,. she won't play a shortstop, they would eat her alive. Sorry, but that's the way I saw it.

Great...so what happened? She won? I think at one point she was 3 games down.

Nick

Kevin Carron

She played Kevin. They have played recently and were familiar with each other's game. He is from just outside St.Louis. She was one game up and they quit for the night and were supposed to start the next day. She had another match going on and they have not finished. She is supposed to come back to play soon in St.Louis.

Agreed Watchez.

There was one guy who was in a suit in her posse and it was funny to watch him on her every whim follow her around and just try to be around her as much as possible. Reminded me of the cartoon where it was Spike the big dog and the little dog kept running around Spike vying for his attention.

Hey Jeanette what we gonna do today, Jeannette can I bet on your match, Jeanette can we go have dinner.

Jeanette: Nooooope

Nah Jeanette you wouldn't want to do that would ya, wants me to get your bags for ya Jeanette, want me to hold your phone while you play Jeanette,

Jeanette: Noooooope
