What are we gonna do when we run out of pedestals  :D :D ???

Maniac

Some people we like to put on pedestals and some people we would like to put UNDER a pedestal, replete with the obligatory circle of tweety birds hovering around their noggin and the broken pieces of wood. :D

I once asked Jay in passing if when he went to the Phillipines next, if he could try and get me some contact info for Leonardo Andam. Would you believe that when he came back to the USA, he actually sent me a PM saying he couldn't find any in the amount of time he was there and was sorry he "dogged it."! THAT is why so many here like and respect him. He's like that to just about everyone. No matter how big his britches get around here, he always remembers the little people.:D

Just sayin'

Love this board, but very few posters interest me enough to check out their most recent posts. Jay is one of those, because he's that good.

I do not know Jay but i agree his posts on a subject, I find on point, and in the know.

Are results of the Swanee available on AZ or elsewhere? (Forgive me if it is and I have missed it. I know a couple of guys who were going to 'try it'.)

I want to add to this.

Jay was a aquitance of mine for many years, but we never really knew each other, I found AZ when I was recovering from a operation in Germany. After hanging out here for a few week I saw Jay here. I knew I knew him and we got to know each other over the next year. I asked Jay alot about the pool scene in Sacramento/Stockton/Bay Area, where i spent about 7 years. I have a great memorie-I wish sometimes I didnt, I asked Jay some questions about things that happened or about people etc. that I knew the answere to just to see if Jay was going to BS me or make things up. NEVER once did he ever exaggerate, twist a story or anything he was either right on the spot or said he didnt know. I tested him and not once did he ever get it wrong, I even asked him about stuff from the earily 90's in Vegas, again he was spot on or didnt know.

I can vouch 100% for Jay and everything he says is true as can be recalled from his massive hard drive in his head. His memorie gives mine the 5 and the pop. How the hell he knows everything about everyone for the last 40 years coast to coast is amazing. What I like about Jay is he dosent paint the picture of the past to be bigger than it was, if the bet was $100 he would say it was $100 not $500, alot of guy's make the bets bigger the longer ago the game was played, and to me thats jive.

Since I trust Jay(because he never distorted the past) we have a few business things in the works, and believe me Jay tested me too, dont worry about that, and thats cool. Cothing has happened yet so I will keep it low, but we have both put alot of $$$ into it-we just dont have a sence of direction ......yet.

I will say this not because he is my friend as most people here know, I believe Jay is the #1 pool historian alive. There are others but some dont recall things as accurate as Jay(i'm not knocking any of them). i'm just saying that for me and what i saw 20 years ago are the same things that Jay saw.

and he will get played again....when I can. i'm unable to play now-the pain is unbearable since last Wed.

i agree, i told them both when i'm in town when there is a tournment I'll add $$$, if i'm not in town then i dunno

If I see a post from Jay I read it. Always. Spot on.... as the saying goes.

Fortunately we allready have an "Ask Jay Helfert" column. It's right
here on AZBilliards. I don't think anyone has asked Jay a question,
either by PM, or on the forum, that he hasn't taken the time to
respond. And as we all say, with a great degree of honesty and
candor. Also, it's good to know Jay's out there monitoring those who
would (God forbid) exaggerate in telling an old war story.(Listen up R.A)

That was Jay Silverheels (don't you just love that name). My brother from another mother. :)

Jay,
If you ever get called for jury duty or to testify on someone's behalf in court, if I were you, I would bring them a printout of this thread. :D

Either that, or you can run for a political office and not have to worry about someone trying to besmirch your impeccable character. Not with the posse you got here!

Speaking of running for office, who's the "sheriff" where you live these days?

If none of that works out for you, you can now safley sell used cars. Whenever a customer asks if they can trust you, whip out a copy of these nice accolades.:) And you DO deserve these props!

You said earlier in this thread "I ain't too big myself." Well, I don't know what body part(s) you were refering to, but thankfully, you don't have a big head!:D

Hey Buddy, Can You Spare A Dime (or a Louis Vuitton bagful)
