don't know if you recall but there was a Jeff Olney thread that got to be about 150 pages long here on az. It was packed with praise from so many people who did biz with Jeff and were so happy with his service and his amazing cues. And they really are fantastic - I would like to be buried with mine and I am not kidding.
what does this tell us?
Pretty sure it means that Jeff Olney has a clue about how to run his business and the problem relating to the op of this thread seem to be a real exception and in no way representative of Jeff's norm.
And, it appears Jeff is reaching out so maybe there could be a good ending to this one.
please don't be so fast to condemn the man to hell for all eternity.
People mess up and deserve a shot at making it right.

Brain, the guy who bought the cue for 960.00 was still in my shop when you called, I didn't what to answer the phone and fight with you with him standing there. I did ask about getting the cue back nope not for sale if I sell it I want a lot. the next day I called him and ask again about getting the cue back he says 1,500.00 so why would he sell you the cue for 1,500.00 if he paid 4000.00. the reason I kept calling you to pick up the cue when done so you would pick up the cue when done. Wednesday no time Thursday no time Friday no time Saturday time Sunday no time until after eight too late. The guy that's bought the guy saw that pau ferro cue in my shop for 3 to 4 weeks waiting for you to came up with 50.00 and pick it up. Sorry you missed the cue buy 19 minutes I would much rather you have the cue. my offer for 800.00 for a nicer cue never mind. the real reason you are so mad you could flip it fast for an extra 500.00 I lost 15.00 you lost 500.00 Jeff
He has not made a single post that shows me he understands where he went wrong.
I think Jeff makes great cues, had a few pass through my hands. Top quality cue maker. That is certainly not the issue here.
You don't take an order and move it out from underneath the buyer over a weekend. Because you need to get paid.
I'm not fast to condemn people. Not a single one of his responses have consisted of taking responsibility for his action. Everyone of them is nothing more than pushing the blame onto the buyer.
Just a horrible way to conduct business. You clearly need some assistance in understanding this. This is not the first time you've made excuses for a business failing its customers.
Well this ought to generate some responses smh...better grab my popcorn and hurry back to hit refresh!

NOTHING in this scenario matters as much as you never telling him that the cue he had been waiting for for 4 years was going to be sold to someone else if he didn't make arrangements to get payment to you.
Hell, in his shoes, if I got that message and it was impossible for me to come pick it up, I would wire you the money since I'd have already seen pics of the finished cue, and come pick it up when I could.
I have a bad back and when it goes out sometimes I can hardly crawl to go to the bathroom for 4 days.
If I had waited 4 years for a cue and then couldn't come up right away I would DAMN sure want some notice that it was going to be sold to someone else if I didn't provide the money by a certain date.

I wouldn't take one of your cues even if it was free, unless it was used to start a fire.
Plus, I didnt lose out on anything. But if you google your name you will notice, on the first page is the thread I've started. And I bet you will still sell your plain Janes and SW styles to your NutHugging fans, But I garuntee that you will ultimately lose out more $$$ in the long run. All over $15 and 24hours.
And my brother is right. Philippino cues do play as good if not better then yours.

Jeff, I really thought you would try reconcile this somehow. I ALMOST thought you were trying in giving Brian a discount on his NEXT cue. You say you really wanted Brian to have it? We hardly ever get to your shop before 8pm and you say that was your cutoff time?

If so - a confirmation would be great.
If not -- I would like to take the money and buy other cues from makers who are willing to make a cue when they say they will.
I come from a place where your word is all you need -- all you have --- and all you're worth.
It's obvious your's is worth little.
Your handling of Brian, Brad and now me is not tolerable. I will take my business elsewhere and will certainly never darken your doorway again - EVER. And every chance I get, will caution anyone else from doing business with you.
