John Barton us open ban

My best weapon has always been my mouth, my words and clear thinking. Looking someone in the eye and telling them the truth has power. That said, dealing with inebriated people can be very challenging if you own a poolroom. The trick is getting them out of there before they become a problem. Ten years of experience dealing with assholes helps!

I found that providing a nice atmosphere/environment is the best preventive measure you can take in owning a business. People tend to act accordingly, depending on where they are. In a dump you can expect trouble on a regular basis. I rarely had as many as one fight per year in the poolrooms I owned. Always over a girl or money.

High crime areas are not that way because there are higher #s of police there. The police are there because of the crime.

But I do agree with your premise, but it falls apart in real life.

You are advocating a might is right scenario.

"legally supported" is based on what you are wearing in many cases and which country you live in, not the details or the moral correctness of the situation. I an not talking about cutting off a hand when you steal bread, but one should be able to deal with an annoyance. If not, all that shows is that people can act how they want without having to deal with consequences of their actions. That is when people grow up to be whiny rude *****es.

What will the police do if you call and say some people are bothering your friend and calling her names? By the time they get there, those guys would have probably run off, and even if not, what do they do? They walk in, say "be nice" and walk out. The guys being asses just make fun of you some more when they leave saying "look at how stupid and ineffective you are". Losing a few teeth teaches them a different thing.

Was this alleged head butt followed up with a clothesline move and the Sheik's sleeperhold? What happened to a good old fashioned face punch?

My cue case has a broken zipper and a broken latch and I have no intention of getting a new case because it is nothing more than a place to keep pool cues.

I've never made a ball with the case.

Speaking of punching people I knew a guy in St Louis who along with his brothers were notorious fighters. One of his brothers was shot and went to the hospital with a broken hand and gunshot wound. Guess how he broke the hand? Now if he wants to punch somebody he has to do it from the wheel chair he is spending the rest of his life in.

In another case in which I didn't know the people involved a 30 year old loser living at home with his Mother impregnated an underage mentally handicapped girl who lived next door. Girl's Mother said the girl was hoping the guy would "make it right" and marry her. Instead he hired a hit man who went on a school bus and executed the girl and then shot the bus driver just for the heck of it. The cost of the hit man $500.

Point being there are some knuckleheads out there.

So has it been summarized what actually happened? My FB skills are weak, and am interested in the facts of the situation. I realize there are two sides, but what are those two sides? Assault is a serious charge, were the police involved? Plus JB seems to do a ton of sponsorships and such for pool, hard to imagine he would risk those relationships unless it was unavoidable...

They are the same case. You’re just more into branding than anything else. 2 identical t-shirts and you are probably that guy that wears the one with the brand across the chest.

You are crazy in the head if you think they are even remotely close. Give someone 30 minutes with an Acme case and you can pull all the straps off. The zippers need 1 twist and they are off. The material on the case itself is very easy to wrinkle. The padding inside is NOWHERE near protection needed a d the bottom is complete trash.

No doubt. These two cases are not even in the same universe. If you need to save 100bux that bad then your cues much not be worth much. It IS your $$, do as you please but don't tell me or anyone else that these two cases are even remotely the same quality.

Lots of internet "tough guys" on here. Thank God I'm not that tough. Must be exhausting beating up everyone that mouths off. When someone says something to me I usually reply With "Your opinion is noted" (roughly translated). Saves energy for pool and other things I like to do.

Anyway, it would be nice to see a video, just to understand the situation better.

In my leadership training I was taught to say, "thank you for your input." Instead of, "go to hell".

I friend told me John barton got into a altercation and head butted someone at the us open????? Any truth to this? Sounds made up to me

I didn't touch anyone. Nothing happened at the venue. I was barred from the open based on a false report.

The rest will eventually be revealed in court documents.

Bottom line that I am innocent.

Steve Price once stole bait from my baitwell. I should have kicked his arse. Gotta watch those case makers

While the aforementioned is also true in my opinion it would not mitigate the consequences of assaulting Huong if proven

He was not physically assaulted in any way despite his repeated requests to be hit. He was not in any way touched.

It's funny how when something drama filled happens in John's life, everyone forgets how batshit he is. Squirrel shit is less nutty.

Well if I am crazy as you claim them perhaps people should not one the bear right? Luckily for myself, my family, my brand, and my adoring haters I am not crazy. Just determined not to let unscrupulous people get away with thieving practices.

He owns Omega Cues.
He and his wife are hard working folks.

So are me and my wife. And the many people who work with and for me. Mike is a straight up liar who is going to have to decide if he wants to lie under oath.

SERIOUSLY?

John bashed Jack Justis for over 20 years, and Jack is one of the nicest human beings on the planet.

If you bought 20 cases from me, I'd answer the phone too.

20 years? No, Jack and I had words for a couple years also based on a false accusation that was posted to azb. Jack and I made up and remain good friends.

Takes one to know one, maybe. I remember an "army" of folks who used to attack John on a regular basis years ago. Jealousy, I'd say.

A lot of us like John Barton very much. He's intelligent and smart. He's also one of my oldest virtual pool friends.

I read on FB a few threads about somebody copying his case design or something similar to that.

Those who know JB -- I mean really know him, not what is written about him by keyboard cowboys -- realize what a treasure he is to the pool world. As well, he is very generous to pool players and pool peeps, giving them free cases and other pool gifts. They don't come any better than John.

Sure, he is opinionated, but a lot of us are. He is also a very strong supporter of pool by sponsoring players and tournaments. Usually it is the intelligent people who are the ones able to share opinions and write on a forum. Then there are those who only come to forums to attack o bythers.

Thank you Jennie.

You never have cause to hit someone when it’s just words being spoken.. that’s what children do but then again it is john and it acts like a child.

What's funny is that you sat in my booth and let me change your interior and you bashed Jack the whole time. When it was convenient for you to let me film changing the interior from Jack's to ours on your case you were nice and "on my side". Then later, for whatever reason and certainly not because I was any different, you choose to become a vocal hater and have remained so.

Who has links to the FB drama?

JB has always been "passionate" ...any controversial topic he gets hooked on, and that's not hard to do, he will go on for pages and pages. Last word kind of guy, combative and the such. Lots of emotion in his approach. Often, he will throw in the towel on reason, facts and logic and switch any debate away from those things, and instead try to make it into a bet of some kind. As if a bet determines truth.

Nothing new on AZ. He was the same way on rec.sport.billiard in the 1990's.

However, a lot of people are like that on the web, but are non-violent in person.

I find it hard to believe he hit someone.

Either way, he does make the best case. I wouldn't go as far as to say he's a crazy/psycho genius, but often time these kind of passionate types goes along with innovation or great skill in certain areas.

That same relentless, obsessiveness he has in his discussions and confrontations is the same obsessive mechanism that drives his case making. Which is why he makes a great case.

No one got hit. I have not been in even one physical altercation based on internet arguing. I am usually the one who says let's bury this when in person.

In fact I made an offer to go to arbitration and it was accepted and then the other side screwed it up and escalated this into a false accusation.

I'm a well known not a JB fan. If he hit him then he got what he deserves. If he didn't then ban is not justified. This matter is not for here.

If I got a DUI I wouldn't expect my mug shot on AZ. For those who defend him for what he does for pool...let's not mistake marketing dollars for philanthropy. Nevertheless it's got no place here regardless of anyone's personal feelings or loyalties.

Full disclosure. I have two JB case and they are OK. Decent value.

Thank you. It will be litigated in court. That is in process.

No doubt you are a perfect person who never has any drama in their lives. John Barton, like JAM said, is intelligent and opinionated, almost always with cause. I know the facts behind this incident, and it is not what most people think. Like JAM said, bogie54311...it takes one to know one. I've known John personally for 30+ years. JB is no more "crazy" than anyone else. I'd like to see you say that to his face if you had the balls.

Thanks Scott.

I am curious. Haven't looked on FB for anything, but if this alleged incident occurred in Vegas in a hotel or casino, it is hard to believe it was not captured somewhere on tape. Virtually every inch of that city has a camera nearby.

There were lots of cameras. How useful any of them will be remains to be seen.

This is not about knockoffs. My designs are without a doubt the most copied in the last 28 years. This is about truth in advertising. Simply put Mike Hoang deliberately lies to sell knockoffs of JB cases. I will prove this in court along with proving my innocence on the accusation being rumored about.

Not only am I going for absolute vindication and exoneration but also will be seeking substantial damages.

If that's the case (pun intended) then why should John worry about them?
