First, I want to say Congrats to Jon for winning the qualifier to get to play in the IPT tournament next month. He is a buddy of mine and I wish him the best.
He lives in Murfreesboro, just south of Nashville. If you ever see him without a hat he is either at a funeral or an IPT event. I have known him for ten years and I can't recall when I have seen him without a hat.
Jon sometimes catches flack for his attitude but it basically is a reflection of his will to win. He has a real hatred for losing and that is a good trait to have as a gambler. Make no mistake, he may play tournaments and excel but he is a stone cold gambler at heart. If he's got it it is in action, no holding back. He's a fun guy to watch.

He told me you were making him a cue at the beginning of May. Last time I talked to him he was telling me how much he liked his new cue. He must have gotten very comfortable with it judging by his recent results.butterflycues said:

here is an old school pic of henny back when they were going through their "slim shady" and he and all his fans dyed their hair blond.

Hal, that's a rare picture of Hennessee with his baseball cap turned frontwards!
First time I met the youngster was in Goldsboro, NC at the 2003 Carolinas Open. Though he did compete in the tournaments, one-pocket and 9-ball, he was in action literally 24/7. I know he played against B.J. "G.I. Joe" Ussery in a long and grueling battle, and then he and Virginian Young Gun Pooky got into it. I think Hennessee ended up winning and making a profit for the trip, but it wasn't tournament winnings, however. I remember thinking how nice it was to be young and have all of that endurance to play all night long. He'll do well at the upcoming IPT in Vegas because of it, IMHO, and may be a force to be reckoned with.
Here's a shot of Michael Coltrain, Hennessee, and Keith having a discussion about how to match up against a propsective player. Hennessee, wearing his trademark baseball cap backwards, was all ears!
