A lack of incentive has kept people from doing lots of things in pool - especially in the US. If pool paid like golf, there would be a lot more open tournaments than fargo capped events, and way more guys switching cue sports and pushing themselves to go pro. There are many players in the mid-high 600s and 700s that have the “ability” to go pro, but for many reasons don’t pursue it. That doesn’t mean we should downplay the guys that did go pro. And we shouldn’t downplay Shaw and Schmidts run.
