Relihan

Some time ago I heard that Jimmy Relihan was living in Los Angeles.
Anybody know if this is true?

Thanks alot for the pictures, kypoolplayer. Nice attempt for it being the 1st. While I can see there is alot of ads in there, along with the pictures, is there any way you can scan the front and any write ups that may be in there? I assume you are just opening up the booklet and taking pictures of the pages.

I love this kind of stuff. If I couldn't be there during those times, next best thing is hearing and seeing about it.

I have an old Johnston City program that was given to me by my buddy Frankenstroke. I have the pages (covers and all) scanned, but they are on my computer at home. I'll try to remember to upload some later this evening.

thanks, that would be greatly appreciated. I don't know what format their in, probably individual .jpgs or something. If you want, I would be more that happy to combine them into 1 .pdf file, which would make it easier to view or print. If that's something you would like... you can email them to photos@oldpoolhall.com and I'll get it converted over.

A few of my pics from JC

A couple of my fav pics from J.City. That's me and my first wife in front of the Cue Club in back of the Show Lounge.

When I go to heaven I want to go back to Johnston City and play two balls better than I did

He's been out here since the 80's. Not playing any pool though. I think he hits the track once in a while, like often.

By then I already knew you for a few years and knew what a goof you were. Poor girl.
P.S. I'd been married to my first wife for a year or so back then. It lasted five years and two babies. She never survived my first pool hall.

In the other little photos, that's Lassiter shaking hands with George Jansco with Paulie Jansco looking on. In the other photo, that's Norman Hitchcock and Paulie Jansco after Hitch won the 9-Ball division.

Did anybody play Lassiter even back then in 9 ball or did they all ask for weight?

Lassiter even

Nobody would play even thru the 50s and 60s. Kelly played him even, later, and Worst would have played even but the game never came off.

Freddie is pretty much right on with his answer. The only other guys who could play Lassiter were his sometimes road partners, Don Willis and George Rood. These guys were all buddies though and didn't gamble with each other. Everyone else pretty much left Lassiter alone at 9-Ball or Straight Pool.
