Another for your viewing. Late 1970s all original.

What kind of wrap is that? That's what I used to have on mine before I got it refurbished. I went with a black speckled wrap and I definitely wish I had kept the original one.

Thanks.

White w/green speck. It is just very used & dirty. But original. I personally hate the black w/white speck wraps on any cues. The white w/green or black just looks more traditional to me.

You can get yours changed out, very inexpensive.

Old Joss Cues

Can any one tell me the model of this cue or any other information you may have on it. My dad purchased it in the early to mid 70's I think,
and has since retired it and been playing with a newer Joss so it stays in its current condition. All original with original shafts.
I love this cue and hope to own it some day as long as we don't have to bury it with him...
Sorry about the pics Ill try to get better ones next time I go home

I don't believe there is a "model" per se. That was from a time when they were all "customs".

It's a 1970's block letter JOSS.

Some can analyze the letters and comment on date ranges according to how the letters slant etc, but I don't know how accurate that is.

Probably somebody can narrow the date range down more than I though.

Very cool cue.

If he has his way it will be buried with him like mine will be. :D

.

I found out it was purchased in 71-72 it was a custom order only... I'll post some better pictures when i get them and thanks for the info.

Very cool.

That was made when Stroud was still with Janes at JOSS.

Most likely Stroud cut those points.

Better pics would be nice. I would like to see this cue....again. I got to shoot with this very cue back in 1983 and had a chance to buy it for $100.
Your Dad says it was $125 but I know different.;)

Welcome to the forum Charlie. PM me if you have any questions.

Jim.

Hi Jim,
I finally got home and took some better pictures. Hopefully they turn out better. He told me about trying to sell that cue...
He said after he started playing more someone offered him $400 and he decided it must be worth holding on to. Enjoy.
Thank You Jim.

Thanks Charlie, sorry I am late lol. My memory had faded, so it was good seeing that old cue again. I wonder how many games it has been in:cool:.
I don't know how your dad plays now but back in the day he shot straight and was fearless. I hear you are tough to beat also.

Your old man and me are talking about getting together and shooting balls into rails :o it should be fun!
