Jump/Break Cues

if you are in the market for one, i am wanting to sell my cuetec jump/break cue. it needs a new tip. Let me know if you are interested.

Im needing some insight on whats the best jump break cue that money can buy.

thanks

Jim

There are a TON of jump breaks available, although I've only owned and tried few. I personally own a Jerico Stinger (not to be confused with the mcdermott stinger) and it breaks like a Mac truck and jumps like Mike in the '96 finals. I also own a BHQ jb but have not hit it, tho it sure is pretty. I cannot ask what the best jb money can buy bc I'm limited to a set amount before my brain says that price is insane, so I go for the best jb that my money can buy. Good luck in your search! Keep us posted on your experiences.

I've never used a dedicated breaker, just a good solid cue and when I break everyone turns and looks. Could be because I'm 6'5 at 245lbs, but I think its because I have a good stroke. So I couldn't speak from experience, but I have been getting plenty of requests for a Joss Thor Hammer, and at $240 it sounds like a good deal.

the best jump break is a break stick and jump cue...separately

This is what I have gone to for serious pool.

That being said, I have heard a LOT of good things about the Lomax cues. I also have a Jerico Stinger and will never part with it.

The shaft specifications between a cue good at breaking and a cue good at jumping are different in the stiffness, taper, and nose weight departments.

So, you can have a JB that is good at breaking and acceptable at jumping, or a JB that is good at jumping and acceptable at breaking.

Finally, some leagues and events mandate leather tip on the break cue but not on the jump cue.

There is no one best jump break cue that money can buy. If there was one best cue that was better than all of the other cues, everybody would be shooting with that same cue.

It depend on what specifications you like. The best jump/break cue for you would be a custom cue made to your exact specifications by a good cue maker. Most full-time cue makers do great work. I recommend getting 2 cues. 1 just for breaking and 1 just for jumping

The only one I've had that does both well is a sledge hammer jump/break. Honestly the worst was the cuetec.

Same questions a year ago...

I've been through what you've been through a year ago and i got a Samsara Jump Cue. Beautiful those things are and extremely well made. They broke great but didn't jump so good for me. Check my past threads...you'll noticed i posted the same thing before..
I've since moved on to a dedicated jump cue and break cue.
I'd say if you're serious about your game and have space in your case, just go for a dedicated cue.

There are tonnes of different break cues that breaks well in the market, custom or production you gotta try to find which one you like most. Come up with a budget and i'm sure fellow Azers will chime in.

As for Jump, i'd say i'm loyal to my Lomax. Many will vouch.

P.S...you'll get loads of PM of people wanting to sell you what they have...and they're usually "the best"...take it with a pinch of salt, not saying they ain't good but take your time.

I have several in stock and I am starting a new batch so you can build your own style, stain and it will be ready in 3 to 4 weeks.

remember this, my ferrule material is unconditionally guaranteed unbreakable called the FT2, and is legal in all pool organizations.

I like the Fury jump/break its a good value for $150. Predator and Lucasi both make more expensive ones.
